I read this article on the golden spiral and really do not know what to think. Do you guys have any opinions?

I believe it is a New Age adaptation of Sacred Geometry which dates to Pythagoras. Even Plato was a student of the Pythagorean school, hence "Platonic Solids" attributed to Plato are also derivative. In fact Pythagoras was the first of the ancient Greeks to refer to himself, not as wise, but as a 'lover of wisdom' - as a philosopher.

I read a book titled "The Golden Ratio" which was a very unbiased look at the golden ratio, and all of its claims ie. paintings, buildings etc...

Many of the claims, like the parthenon, regarding the golden ratio are pretty much stretches of the imagination.... like cutting jigsaw puzzle peices to make them fit where they shouldnt.
The problem with most numerology type mysticism, is that numbers are flexible, and usually, some mystical meaning which is purely subjective and illusory is given.
If I asked you to give me an equation which has the answer 10, how many possible equations out there can give me that answer?

It is found in plants and shells, but the claim about the body.... well, you could pick any body part, and make it fit the golden ratio. Foot to forearm, neck to calf, femur to whole leg.

While the ratio is very, very interesting, I dont think it is mystical.
