Numerology?
    #661633 - 06/04/02 01:32 AM (15 years, 6 months ago)

so, i have a question for those of you who are interested and knowledgable in numerology. I have recently read a little bit about some of the basics, and noticed a few interesting things in relation to my b-day/name/etc...

firstly, my b-day is 9.11.1978 so, already, there seems to be SOME significance with the 9 number and especially the 11. Additionally, there is the obvious current association with this date. On that day, i turned 23, and interestingly, i found that the digits of 9 + 11 + 1 + 9 + 7 + 8 = 23, so the numbers of the date add up to be the same as my age. The first birthday that this worked was for age 22, another significant number.

My name has a total of 23 letters, adding up all the letters in my first, middle and last names...

And, i was born at 23:07 on 9-11-78

OK, i thought i had more, but i guess im just wondering if there seems to be any significance to any of it, and what it could be.

Oh, also, the day i was born, on the mayan calendar, is a day of the galactic activation portal opening.

Also, finding a numerology site online, this is their analysis, first of my name:

expression: 11
soul urge: 4
persona: 7

Natal analysis:

Personal year: 6
Personal month: 3
personal day: 7
Destiny: 9

Cycles:
Seed: 9
Fruit: 11
Harvest: 7

Pinnacles:
first: 11
second: 9
third: 2
fourth: 7

challenges
first: 7
second: 5
third: 2

so, i dont know how to really interpret all of this...if anyone reading this knows anything about it and cares to share, i would love to listen.

thanks

I've got some good numerology links. I'll post them when I return from my short voyage later tonight.

sorry, that was a typo, it's supposed to read that 9 + 11 + 2 +1 = 23
for 9/11/2001

It may come out to 45, but in numerology, you always add the numbers together till you can get a single digit...in this case 4+5=9....still a 9!!!!

I'm no numerologist, I like the symbolism found in numbers though.. as it relates to the I-Ching.
Here's some links I dug up.

so you see a couple nines here and there and you think there is a connection to some portal opening or better yet to sept 11, 2001? I highly doubt it, no offense to what you have 'discovered' but I don't believe in numerology. But there is very precise mathematical explanations of nature, heard of The Golden Ratio?

"when you discard rigor you ceace to be a mathematician, your a numerologist."
a date is essentially meaningless, as its frame of reference has been arbirarily set. Don't read too far into it.
math goes a whole world deeper than you could imagine.
think of the intantessimal expanse between any two integers.. an infinity of rational and an even greater infinity of irrational.. the points between any two disticnt points.. now leave the line, and find up, or sideways... don't obsess over a number, any number, just look between then, and above them.

chodamonkey, i wasnt only talking about the 9's present.

and the only reason i brought up sept 11, 2001 is that September 11 is my birthday.

and regarding the galactic activation portal, tthat was a reference to the mayan calendar, where they mapped out several different calendars, and on a few days a year, all of the calendars overlap, the mayans said that these days are galactic activation portal days. I ont know much about it, i just added it in because it was interesting.

A stopped watch is correct twice a day.

Did they now? Just what Mayan writings tell of this? Did the Mayan's have a word for galaxy? How do you know?

Numerology, especially in its soothsaying and divinatory aspects, is in many ways a typical pseudoscience. It makes predictions and claims that are almost impossible to falsify since an alternative formulation consistent with what happened is easy to dream up. Based on number, it has a limitless complexity to engage the ingenuity and creativity of its adherents, without burdening them with the need for validation or testing. Its expressions of equality are generally used to corroborate some existing doctrine, and little if any effort is expended to construct counter-examples. Surely, "God" must be numerically equivalent to phrases which deny doctrine, or to words which are sacrilegious or funny.

Or something like that.
