Toronto Slang, and my weird milk protein allergy.
    #5388176 -

There's some weird slang in Toronto... I guess there probably is in every region, but two things come to mind primarily.

Half-quarter: This is what a lot of people in and around Toronto call an eigth. This seems ridiculous to me, but a lot of people say it. People who never learned their fractions.

Jokes: As in "That movies was jokes.", meaning it was funny.

I know there's more, but nothing else comes to mind right now.

In totally unrelated news, I've got a milk allergy. It's faded a whole lot since I was a kid, and barely affects me now, but it's not to lactose, it's to some protein. It makes my throat and inner ears itch, or get sore, and it used to make me throw up. Sometimes I can feel a bit of swelling in my throat, but only a bit, and that only happens when I eat a TON of something. The funny thing is, the protein(s) I'm allergic to aren't only in milk. They're also in a lot of beans, and there's trace amounts in tomatoes. There's a TON in protein supplement powders, shakes and bars. Cooking stuff tends to make it do much less damage.

So I eat my cereal with juice on it, I always have. My little sister did too, just 'cause that's what she saw me do. So cereal seems like a juicy type thing to eat. It's way better with juice than with milk, in my opinion. Refreshing and shit.

thats really weird.....

How are we determining what is only regional slang? how do we not its not used any where else?

anyways.....

dirty: when something is exceptionaly cool, or someone has done something unbelieveable. i.e. "did you see that guy do that crazy backflip?" "yeah it was dirty"

prostitots: underage girls that dress like sleezy.

Which protein are you allergic to? Casein makes up about 82% of the proteins in milk, while Whey makes up the other 18%.

I'm just asking since I'm moderately to highly allergic to the main protein (casein). Whey doesn't bother me that much at all, so I end up using soy milk if I want some cereal.

Like two bowls of cereal with soy milk will just make my face burn very slightly, while two bowls of cereal with regular milk would most likely put me in the hospital. Unfortunately, my allergies have gotten worst with age instead of the normal fade.
