Oh yeah, clubs. Those are always good for meeting people. Shit, I went out to disc golf doubles league yesterday for the first time and met a bunch of new people. And I'll see them again every weekend, too. And my partner and I even won $55! Just find something you like doing that you can do with groups of people, or something.

join a gardening club in your area and teach them the benifits of growing mushrooms along side their plants (Stamets new mycology book deals with it) give you some good outdoor cultivation experience ;-)
Voulinteer for some hippieish/community festival.
