Lessons in Life... I Learned One Today

Things happen sometimes in such ways, that they end up almost teaching a lesson. It happens to me too.
Care to share any of your stories?
[..Even IF, you do not wish to deliver the lesson learned..]
I'll start, if I may:
I had an Orientation today, that was scheduled for an 11 30 am audience, at a respectable corporation. My lesson revolves around THAT fact.
Check this out...
I set my alarm for 9..... ...... ...... Fucking PM!!! My orientation started at 11 30 am. I woke up early, however... around 11 something. I saw on my clock that it was 12 35.... Note, I haven't set my clocks back for the winter season, nor am I sure, exactly, just how fast the clock really is.... So, until I realized that my clock was set fast, and because I was still in a daze, I got so pissed that I missed the orientation... and sooooooooooo.... I broke the alarm clock. ... ... ... I then, just moments after the fact, realized that I had just broke my clock for no reason....
Dammit!
So I quickly threw on anything, and did this real fast sorta shave on dry skin.... Not too pleasant, but bearable.
No coffee or noth'n, I rushed to my car...
Well....
It was freezing rain last night. I had about an inch of ice on my car all around. I couldn't get access to the inside of the car....
I was FUCKING like.... NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
So I finally, after chiseling the ice with my.... you guessed it.... KEYS (WTF?), I got in and grabbed my scraper, and began to, as fast as I could, scrape any viewable parts I needed in the windows....
The fucking back window ice wasn't coming off well, the sides were a pain in the ass... the front... Well during my time around the car, the wind was so cold and bitter, my eyes were crying alot....
I had to go inside and quickly warm up before I could finish the job.
Anyways, while fighting with the ice on the front windshield, I managed to break the wiper right off !!!!
OOOOHHHHHH NNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
So fucking now anyways, I'm freezing my ass off... alot, and so, I just simply place the broken wiper back where it belongs, get into the car and make my way onto the highway.
For the last part of the ride, the wind was blowing the snow to such a degree, that there were white-out conditions along the way.... where, of course, by sheer accident, everyone slowed to a more safer, like fucking 40 km/h, if I was seriously lucky.....

So anyways, by the time I got into the building, I must've looked pretty fucked up.... And also.... before I forget to mention... I was quite late at this point.... it was 12 something already......
As I got inside, I had this quick flash .... And, you know (?), how in the movies, there is this big table in the middle of a room and everyone is sitting there and then the late dude shows up and everyone is just looking at them funny?
....Well, I was that dude today.
*Sigh*
I was asked to take a seat... make myself comfortable and sign some papers.
BONUS !!!

Things turned out all right after all.
But boy, was it a test on the 'ol nerves along the way.
P.S.
Lucky I shoveled the night before. It was like -15 today, with severe(!) wind chill .... I wouldn't have been able to shovel the wet snow plow 'present' left behind on my driveway from yesterday's milder snowfall/rain... especially with my industrial PLASTIC!!!! shovel.
This is a true story.
What lesson do you think I learned by this?
Now, if you want... YOUR turn.

similar thing happened to me tuesday. i had exam, stayed up really late studying and then carefully set my alarm. unfotunelately i set the time of my alarm so carefully that i forogt to TURN THE ALARM ON. anyway i woke up 25 minutes after the exam started and managed to get there 15 minutes later. however after finishing the exam i realized i had left in such a hurry that i forgot to pack my notes for the second exam i had that day, which meant i had guess my way though when simply reading over those notes 1-2 times would have drastically improved my grade since there was tons of definitional stuff. anyeway it hink from now on i am going to set my cell phone and my alarm clock on days when i have exams.

"one time.... it was windy outside..... and I pissed in the direction against the wind....."
One time, there was this older guy... He's like...
"I SEE", said the BLIND man, to his DEAF dog, as he picked up a hammer and SAW...
He must've pissed as you say.... he was like: "Ah yesss... it's all coming back to me now..."

the lesson was.... don't smash your alarm clock cuz it didn't do nuthin' wrong!....?
The lesson I learned today (and over the past week or two) is that if you want something done right you really do have to do it yourself!
Nobody wants to assume responsibility for anything! If it's not specifically in their job and everything isn't set up for them already then they don't want to do it! It's easier to shift responsibility onto your company or co-workers so you can just shrug it away and say "It's not my responsibility!"
This fear of being held responsible for your work amounts to SHITTY SERVICE! Have some fucking confidence in your abilities! Accept challenges along with the fact that you will always have to work around somebody else's bullshit mistakes.

I was laughing my ass off reading your story. At least things worked out ok.
I learned today that I'd better find a job that I love to do, otherwise I will be very unhappy for a long time.

I learned that there is almost never a job on someone else's terms that I would love to do, thus it is important to not allow any expectation or demand of your own to interfere with your enjoyment and happiness while performing that job.
 Peace.

I think you may be right...I should have said: "Find something that you love to do." Even if it's not your job, just something that you can really be at peace with.

Certainly. We should actively engage in activities that we prefer to do and are very rewarding and fufilling, as well as seeking to remain in such a mental state throughout all of life's activities and situations.
 Peace.

Some people are forced not to look for those goodies, as they simply are forced to earn money. I think, it will ever be a sort of compromise between your interests and the interests of those who give you the money (aka means for living), you know ?
In what case however, if you (start to) dislike something about your job, bring your best into your job and change that, what you did not like about... (consider internal and external changes )
