I've as much info on harvesting as I can find on here, and it seems to me that the recommended time to harvest is right after the veil breaks. From what I've seen, the mushrooms will grow to double their size after the veil breaks before they start dumping spores. So...

Does maturity affect potency?

If a mushroom gets too mature and dumps spores, are they ok to eat, or do you have to try and clean the spores off the stem before you eat em?

:mushroom2:  The best time to harvest is after the veil breaks, true.  From what I've noticed, maturity doesn't affect potentcy too much, but if you leave 'em in too long they start to rot.  If you want to make a print, wait 'till the cap fully opens.  If you have spores on the stem, don't sweat it.  They won't hurt you.  :mushroom2:

potency wise,a mushroom has the same amount of psylocibin in it as it had when it pinned.The bigger the mushroom gets, the less potent it gets per gram. I try to harvest right before the veil breaks.

King is kind of right and kind of wrong. After the veil breaks they don't produce much more psylocin/psylocibin. Bigger ones are fine to eat along with the spores, but you're just eating more (and getting a little more nauseous) for the same trip.
