inner reservoir Qs

when making the reservoir, am i to assume that it goes 3/4 the way down or all the way? in the PF pictures the cakes apear to have no reservoir on thee top of the cake(bottom invitro). why is this? Also, when birthing you to inject 10cc of water, now is this after scraping the verm layer out and before accually taking them out the jar? inbetween flushes do you lift the cake and inject from the bottom verm layer? these are not covered in the tek. anyone fimiliar with thhis?

I did an experiment and the jars I did the inner res tk on gave better flushes. put about a half inch of substrate then put in the pen or whatever and fill then fill the space where the pen was with damp verm.

i believe the reason why they are at the top is that those were drilled in after colonization. the ones that are made with the thing built in [top invitro] are the ones your talking about. the doo above me is right but id use something bigger than a pen. a freind tried it and said most of the time the hole growsover and they need extra time or theyll contam when you dump water on them. but the guy above me says it works for him so fuck it, try it out.

you want the resevoir completely surrounded on all sides by colonized substrate, so I guess 3/4 of the way down in your original question. When you inject the water doesn't really matter. Just do it after you birth, and then after each flush. Where you inject through doesn't matter either. As long as the water gets to the resevoir, you can inject from the top bottom or side.
