Question about old cakes

Wondering if you could help me. I have cakes that were sterelized in October... I decided to not innoculate them at the time but recent events may make it possible.

Are the old cakes too dry or anything to inocculate now?

Any thoughts?

I would make new ones. Those have prolly dried out a bit by now.
