How many Quart Jars can a Sporelab syringe incoulate?

I ordered 3 syringes form Sporelab and I'm just curious as to how many Quart Jars I could inoculate with each one. Thanks!

It depends on how much solution you want to use in each jar.

1-1.5ml is probably sufficient

I believe that the syringes are 10cc each.Usually 4 or 5cc is fine for a qt jars.A bit less or a bit more won't hurt.

I'd say 2-3cc's. Too much solution can cause standing water in the jars which can lead to contams. Shake the jar once when you have 30-50% colonization. If you have an incubator or other means to keep the jar in the mid to low 80's colonization should be fast. Then use that jar to do G2G transfers for really fast colonization.

Save back 2 ml of a syringe & do an LC with it.
Quart jar of LC will get you 30 hot shot syringes.

I'll keep the LC in mind agar, but I think for my first grow I'll just make prints and the next time around I'll make some LC.

Most "first" grows don't go smooth, and many fail.

A couple ml of a clean vendor syringe, to LC will give you BACK UP.
For the second go-round.

Anybody can make prints, with ease.

Most of which are contaminated.

Unless you really have your sh*t together.

Think about that.

You're right, I'll use make 2 quart jars of each strain with 2cc each. Will the 6cc left in each syringe be good for a couple months?

senescence (aging)

In biology, senescence is the combination of processes of deterioration which follow the period of development of an organism. For the science of the care of the elderly, see gerontology; for experimental gerontology, see life extension. The word senescence is derived from the Latin word senex, meaning "old man" or "old age."

Cellular senescence is the phenomenon where cells lose the ability to divide. In response to DNA damage (including shortened telomeres) cells either senesce or self-destruct (apoptosis) if the damage cannot be repaired. Organismal senescence is the aging of whole organisms. The term aging has become so commonly equated with senescence that the terms will be used interchangeably in this article.

Aging is generally characterized by the declining ability to respond to stress, increasing homeostatic imbalance and increased risk of disease. Because of this, death is the ultimate consequence of aging. Differences in maximum life span between species correspond to different "rates of aging". For example, inheritance make a mouse elderly at 3 years and a human elderly at 90 years. These genetic differences relate to the efficiency of DNA repair, antioxidant enzymes, rates of free radical production, etc.

Some researchers in gerontology (specifically biogerontologists) regard aging itself as a "disease" that may be curable, although this view is controversial. To those who accept the view, aging is an accumulation of damage to macromolecules, cells, tissues and organs. Advanced biochemical and molecular repair technologies may be able to fix the damage we call aging (thereby curing the disease and greatly extending maximum lifespan). People who hope to wish to extend human maximum life span through science are called life extensionists.

Genetic and environmental interventions are known to affect the life span of model organisms. This gives many hope that human aging can be slowed, halted, or reversed. Dietary calorie restriction, by 30 percent for example, extends the life span of yeast, worms, flies, mice, and monkeys. Several genes are known to be necessary for this extension, and modification of these genes is also sufficient to produce the same effect as diet. Resveratrol, a polyphenol found in the skin of red grapes, has been shown to extend the lifespan of yeast, worms, and flies.

I would actually advise starting a liquid culture first before innoculating your substrate, less chance of contaminating the syringe and making a liquid culture of mushroom mycelium next to something else. I make lc's of each syringe before sticking it into anything for this reason, not worth it to prepare 20 jars and inoculate with a contaminated culture

LC is definitely the way to go. 1ml in 1000ml, then after a weeks you could use this 1000ml to innoc 1000x1000ml jars. Now in 2 weeks you have enough for 1 million jars!

dude just look up an lc tek,, and then you will cum in your pants because it is so easy to do. nig you cant even handle this shit till you do some more readin, but i am confident you wikll ge there!!!! good luck
