Use of pf cake to innoculate small containers

When areas on my cakes get blue or seem to have stopped producing pinheads for one reason or another I shave those areas off to allow the heathy mycelium under it to form pins.When finished I have a pile of scraps that in the past just got tossed in the trash. One afternoon I took the pile and covered the bottom of a small tupperware container and cased it with some vermiculite. As I suspected it began to grow back HEALTHY!!!!!!!!!! it takes about two weeks to "heal" itself but in the end its just like crushing up a fresh cake. Next time dont throw it away recycle much to gain nothing to lose.
