Absinth is a cross between LSD and a date rape drug

Thats right, according to a fox news specialist, George Smith IV, who died while on his honeymoon cruise, and his wife, had the green fairy in their presence.

The specialist then went forwards and explained they were drinking absinthe, and proceeded to describe the ingredient, worm wood. It seems its a cross between LSD and "a date rape drug". It also wouldn't be likely to make you jump out a window unlike some other drugs.

He then pointed out that this 130proof absinthe was much more powerful then the "80% proof" liqueur here. Thats right, not only do we only have 80 proof liqueur in the states, its also 80 percent proof.


Why am I not surprised :[

I can see this being her defense (she is a suspect).

They were drinking this "Highly Hallucinogenic" drink and he wandered out a window.

Has anyone here actually hallucinated after consuming absinthe. Every time I drink it I just get a nice drunk feeling thats a little more euphoric as opposed to regular alcohol. Never any visuals

I think you have to be a chronic absinthe drinker to hallucinate.

I bought two liters of it once. I drank a quarter of it (not in one sitting of course) and really didn't think the experienc ewas that much different from being drunk. Realizing that it tastes and smells like turpentine, I dumped the remaining 3/4's down the drain. It was loaded with thujone and honestly I drank way more than I should've of it, but I saw nothing in terms of hallucinations, unless your counting the spins as a hallucination.

Absinthe back in the day had much much much much higher thujone content than absinthe today.

The European Union permits a maximum thujone level of 10 mg/kg in alcoholic beverages with more than 25% ABV and 35 mg/kg in alcohol labeled as bitters. Member countries regulate absinthe production within this framework.

Back in the day, the impressionists were drinking absinthe with a thujone content of around 350 mg. I consider myself a pretty avid absinthe drinker, and I tend to only drink absinthe with the max thujone content. To this day I have never had a hallucination.

But thujone is legal right?  Its even sold here in the States via Ethno internet stores-wormwood.  SO, theoretically, one could cojure up a absinthe drink just as potent as those bak in the day.  The stuff isnt great tasting...Im wondering what the motive is in drinking absinthe if you cant even detect any phychedelics effects.  Do you get anything esle besides a typical alcohol buzz?

Yes, it's a more much clear, pleasant, in control type drunk. Your mind can function in a much more lucid manner and you have much less confusion. I prefer it greatly over regular alcohol.

If I am severely intoxicated on some strong absinthe, colors and sound become more vivid, but still no hallucinations.
