Ack, bugs in my apartment?

Eeeep, my boyfriend just noticed a bug crawling across the top of our fridge, with big antennas and a hard shelled back - he thinks it was a cockroach. I saw just the underside/back end of it as it scampered down the back of our fridge, so couldn?t verify if it was a roach or not.

But, either way - it was a bug. And usually, if you see 1 in the open, there are dozens of others hiding elsewhere - yeck!

While me and my BF are not the cleanest creatures in the world, we are far from slobs. Other then a pile of dishes in the sink, which at most - sit there for like, 2 days tops before we clean them all (usually daily) - pretty much the only mess in our apartment is clothes laying on the floor that we don?t put away. It's untidy - but not filthy, not like we have piles of food sitting in the corner or anything.

Going to do a big apartment clean today, do all the dishes - and start getting in the habit of 'washing the dish right after I use it' so we don?t have a pile of dishes sitting around anymore, and also going to run to the hardware store and get like, a bug spray/trap or something.

But, any other suggestions for finding the source/getting rid of bugs?

My building is really old - one of the oldest buildings in Toronto actually, and I think one of the guys on our floor is a slob. He's left bags of garbage in front of his apartment before for days on end (stinking up the entire fucken hallway in the process), and during the summer, I once saw a huge army of ants walking to/from his apartment and one across the hall.

Could it be possible that the bugs are originating from another apartment on the floor that?s messy, and just getting some spillover into ours or what?

are you serious or joking cause that doesnt sound like a bad idea, except my dog would probabl yeat them, oh and just for the record i dont have bugs
