Throwing Away Our Dishes!
    #4996911 - 11/30/05 01:25 AM (16 years, 2 days ago)

So I have two roommates, none of us are really into the whole "Cleaning" thing at all. Which is wierd, 'cause one of 'em is a girl, and she's the dirtiest of them all!

Anyway, we have 2 big sinks full of dishes that have been there for months. We all have like, 1 bowl and 1 fork that we use. The rest is just shit from our parents that we dirtied and dont want to clean. We've just decided to throw all the dirty dishes away instead of cleaning them.

Yes, this is a great example of the "Throw-Away" culture in America. Yes, it makes us very lazy.

We dont care. Finally free of dishes! YES!

Maybe its time to invest in paper plates and plastic cups?

For sure. Not plastic though. Paper.

Paper cups aren't uncommon, they're just usually coated with some kind of waxy, um, coating. Like disposable bathroom cups, y'know, the kind you can crumple up and toss after using.

Although I can't imagine letting dishes get that bad that you'd just throw them away.. man, right after you use the plate/dish/cup squirt some soap on it and run it under water, wipe with a sponge. It really isn't that difficult.

Yeah but you cant really reuse paper cups. They get soggy and gross after a while. Plastic ups are reuseable so you can save mad $$

Or, unless you're drinking something thick and sticky like banana drink, you can rinse your normal cups with water and spend $0.

I threw away all my roomates dishes once for this same reason. I kept telling him I would do it if he didn't clean them but he didn't believe me. He was fuckin pissed. He ended up digging em out of the dumpster and cleaning them.

Paper plates and plastic ware/cups are the way to go though for real.

When I was at university a flatmate left the remains of a chicken carcass on the kitchen table and loads of pots and pans on the cooker for 3 days. I ended up chucking them out of the bathroom window into the overgrown mess that was the garden below.

He never did ask what happened to them!

But honestly, washing up isn't so much of a hardship ya lazy fucker!

I did the same thing. My roommate left his dirty dishes in the sink for over a month and it began to stink up the entire kitchen. He never even bothered to rinse them off so they were covered in rotting chunks of food. I had had enough so I put them in a trashbag and put that outside on our patio in case he ever wanted them back. Well apparently he didn't because they all ended up in the dumpster.

I can't believe people sometimes.

Once our dishes got so bad that we loaded all of them in coolers and brought them out to a gravel pit and shot every one of them with my shotgun. It was very fun.
