A few comments (but first, isn't this off-topic for the vendors forum? I know a couple like Ryche have said they'll stop by Suggestions once a week or so...)

2) Searches of non-fungi related sites would be useful to let you know if vendors selling accessories are ripping you off. You'll almost always pay more at a site doing a specialized business than a general one, but you also may be willing to pay more to support our vendors.

5) Only vendor opinions are relevant as to whether or not a suggestion is worth implementing?

6) If you lock a thread just because some schmuck posts pr0n, that's a great way for someone (cough) to shut down a thread they don't like. I think it would be better to just delete obviously off-topic pr0n. Sorta like a flamewar (oh no, people are getting insulting, let's shut them down so they go to ANOTHER possibly useful thread and kill IT too.) As for language, it doesn't bother me. Everyone judges others on how they present themselves, I see no reason to explicitly say "bad words are naughty!" and take action against people who swear. I don't even read OTD, so no comment.

7) I like. Not sure if this is the place to host it, but a collaborative entheogen/research news site would be sweet. I think it should be run somewhere with less of an iron fist when it comes to crimethink.

8) Perhaps a vendors-bitching-at-vendors forum? You seem to want to prevent strife, I'd rather just be able to ignore it. An "ignore" feature so that we could implicitly not view the posts from specified members would be more useful to me.

9) Nice idea, but fails in practice. I use the Anonymizer - my visible IP is 168.143.112.7. Anybody else using the Anonymizer would have the same one, and that also applies to other web proxies. Also useless for those on dialups.

1.  The Hawks Eye is in the process of a huge overhaul. I plan to be finished by no later then the end of April.
Can I just post videos for the teks ?? :smile: Building a nice looking website and posting lots of pictures, videos, teks etc... is a lot of work and very time consuming. Maybe I should spend less time building such a nice website and learning video editing and just worry about shipping orders every day since that what ppl seem more interested in...how fast they get their order :sad:


2. That is a very good idea. One of the common emails I seem to get  is where to get vermiculite on line. If anyone has been keeping up on that question, please PM me.

3. Another good idea...sounds like a lot of work to make those 2 happen but i'm sure there are some very intelligent ppl here that can put 2 & 3 together.

6. No porn...??/ Ok...how about just "good porn" ....we all love porn .. just not the sick shit.  je je je....J/K

9. That is a great idea i've been hoping would happen for a very long time.... to bad it cant be done. I hear ppl with WEB TV all have the same IP address as well. Certainly there must be "some" way around this ?

Tracking IP addresses would create paranoia. The tracking of your IP adress can lead to all the info law enforcement needs to find you. Granted they could easily get the info if they really wanted it, but let's not give them a list from which to work with. I don't see this as an option when dealing with many of the illegal activities discussed on this board. The last thing I would want is to know this place is tracking IP addresses. It would not be worth the risk. Not for the purpose of making sure banned people stayed banned. The words "tracking IP address" strikes fear in many of us for darn good reasons.

Wow, nice post enter... But just curious why its in the vendor forum, I'll leave it here since you make points for the vendors. But you may consider posting this as well in the suggestion forum...

1. Agreed, but I think most of the sites are doing a great job.

2. Might be a bit complicated to do this, it would involve a lot of work to put something like this up. But its definately an interesting idea.

3. Great idea. Problem is that this BB software doesn't support such things, we can however suggest this to the developers and hope they add it to future upgrades.

4. I like this idea. Spring Sales, etc.... Everyone loves promotions. :wink:

5. Contrary to what some may think, I love suggestions, even though I may not agree with some I still love to see people caring enough about this place to suggest how to improve it.

6. OT is an open playground basicly, we allow porn within the law, I know it isn't always pretty but thats what OT is famous for... Maybe you'd like another forum like OT thats moderated and has rules about conduct? That idea was thrown around recently.

7. There is something in the works concerning 'news' and that sort of thing... I know people have heard the Shroomery is getting a facelift, it is still happening, albeit a little slowly right now...

8. Vendors have been warned, as have users who provoke vendors for the sake of starting trouble. It takes two to tango.

9. We can't log IPs, this was an issue that was heatedly debated about 2yrs ago.. Basicly people are too paranoid and they want to protect their privacy, as do we. Proving puppet accounts is difficult, so unless we track IPs there is little we can do. We regularily remove unused accounts (0 post accounts) and duplicate accounts.... Otherwise we'd probably be over 15,000 registered nicks.

The others are great ideas. Don't let them die. Especially the news thing coordinating with other communities. There's also a really cool psychedelics magazine that Barnes and Nobles gets sometimes, they'd be cool to work with. Too bad i don't know the name...
Get to work, you've got some fires to light under a buncha asses if you want it to work, but I think it's worth it. Hell, give me the first assignment for the news thing.

I didn't read the rest but have to comment.

Vendors stand out more to YOU, because you have some sort of weird vendor fetish, this is not intended as a flame, it's just my observation since you mention vendors or kits in every post. I for one have no use for any of the vendors, I mean sure, I've ordered spores before, and even ordered 1000 filter disks from Mycosupply, but now I have more strains/species that I have time to work with. And see no point in paying the vendors 10 times what I pay for my equipment/supplies.

IP logging is the wierdest thing I could imagine being suggested by a non cop.

Yea man, what I'm trying to say is. I know it doesn't look like it or sound like it but I'm actually trying to help. I find your vendor deal extremely weird so maybe I come off abbrasive.

What I'm saying is ebay, feed stores, hardware stores, agar work make vendors completely useless. I'm sure you will see the light eventually, I'm just trying to send you in the right direction. I'm tired so can't go into alot of detail. I know everyone can't make their own compost like I do for lack of space, but just common stuff like oyster shells, lime, etc cost $5 for a 50lb bag at the fees store, wheat grain cost $6 for 50lb bag, rye costs $8-12 for 50lb bag. Etc, etc, I have no special hookups for these prices.

Ebay can be an amazing place for lab equipment, I mean serious stuff. There's nothing wrong with being a vendor or ordering from vendors when desperate, I do it also, just got my order from FP, but why keep talking abou it. This stuff is cheap, it's not hard to find, no point in paying retail unless you have to, my $319 at FP bacti-cinerator cost me $20, I had another that I sold for $75. I'd like to see a vendor sell me that.

Yea, Anno kicks ass, always sharing info, and the $3 print/culture deal was great. Ralphster also kicks ass w/ all he's done with the FSR. Sporeworks is great for all the work they do with exotics. Micron Magic is cool for getting everyone on filter disks( 1 year ago maybe 1% of the OMC used filter disks at most) But as far as supplies, there is noone offering anything unique or hard to find IMO, when someone does that, they'll have my respect.

The ones who REALLY kick ass are the ones that aren't here to sell ANYTHING and just help people day in and day out, I do this on another board, Teonan Kicks ass, Puscle comes to mind, I'm sure there's more, but to be honest I avoid the basic cult forum here.

All the supply vendors I see associated with this site are gouging psilocybe growers, I'm speaking mainly of the one with the Feed store inventory and ones that sell compost, Mycelium fruits and Mycosupply are alright, but I've been hoping that mycosupply would expand their inventory though there's not much left for me to get other than things like Filter patch bags which I will be ordering from the factory.

As far as porn and shit, man who cares, you can't control a site this big, if you don't like OTD, don't go to it. Sure some of the biggotry and racism may reflect bad upon shroomers, but like they said in a recent FF debate, "it's all about free speech and they aren't changing it". Many of us aren't here to learn cultivation, many in OTD care nothing about cultivation, and some like me would love to learn something new, but can't find anything new especially when they have to sift through all the basic stuff in Advanced cult. If ya wanna master cultivation get TMC and GGMM, Stamets understood mushroom/psilocybe cultivation better 20 yrs ago then the whole OMC put together. Most any of us that are good learned it all from him.

Well unlike you not all of the people here need a case of petri's a month of 3.3 cubic yards of peat, or 100 pound of compost at a time.

For a guy who claims to use mushrooms to teach by the looks of your alledged inventory you must be teach all the young kids in a tri-state area.

And is this where your alledge 10,000.00 a day income is from.
Help me out teacher I am confused are you saying we all should by in bulk to grow a little personal or should we all start growing bulk so we have an excuse to save a little money??

I think what it boils down to is you bitch to much and do to little we have all at one point and time said to you directly WE DO NOT NEED A CASE OF PETRI"S or the rest of the shit some people don't have pressure cookers what is wrong with helping them out?? and get some money for my time??

Unfortunatly we are not getting rich growing shrooms we do it as a hobby and not as an educational tool or a source of income.
