Slow colonization w. rye grain??

Does rye grain normally take longerr than brown rice flour to colonize?? I"m not talking about rye berries or whole grain rye, just the regular flour. It seems as though it's taking longer than the jars innoculated the same day w. brown rice flour and other w. a mix of the two flours. Anybody??

Well I've heard that it does take longer. I've personaly never tried it myself but thats what i heard too.

So if it takes longer, what are the advantages to using it? Does it increase potency or something, cuz if it doesn't I might as well use BRF and get it faster right? Anyone have anything to contribute?
