microchip

A microchip broke off of the inverter on my laptop. Would I be able to put a bit of glue on the board and the chip stay without messing up?

Definitely not. YOu need to take that to a professional. They might be able to solder it back on for ya.

Okay smartasses. Lol. This was a serious post. I don't know how it broke off. It was mailed to me and when it got here it didn't work. I opened it up and concluded what had happened. It isn't just a regular microchip that is held on by about 10 pieces of metal on each side. It is just like a transistor, I guess? A little black box on the inverter. It has a pin on each side, it even snaps back into place. And I found out, I actually can glue it. It would just be temporary. I am going to go get a soldering iron tomorrow and fix it. But thanks for the help.

dont use glue, if anything use sillicone.
