Where would be a good place to buy agar and petri dishes, of course, for as cheap as possible?

Cynmar.com is a cheap source for petris.
Agar Agar from a health food store.
Malt from any Home brew supply store, online or in person. Use the tan.

yep, they are good for the petris.
you can also get free agar, more than enough for like 500 petri dishes for free at moorehead.com ( i think thats how they spell it, but it takes 9 weeks or so to get, so you may just need to find it elsewhere) and then for your nutrient for your plates you can can use BRF, Rye Flour, Malt, lots of things...

fuck agar id go with a liquid medium tek. lots less hasle, lots more inoculum.
