Pour agar into petri dishes before pc

Can agar solution be poured into petri dishes and then pc the petri dishes instead of pouring after the agar has been sterilized? Allow the petri dishes to cool and then inoculate.
I thought this might avoid the possible contamination possible during pouring the dishes after the agar has been sterilized.
Any reason why this wouldn't work?
Thanks

Yes...it's a little better way of doing it but you'll need some sort of rack to hold the dishes while in the PC, allow it to cool in the PC and make sure that you use a flow hood when streaking the plates....with the use of a flow hood you can pour them after autoclaving....

I seldom have problems with contamination either, usualy I have to introduce them but the average joe needs a little assist sometimes from the HEPA gods....you have to lear and then practice for good techniques....not many people are born with it....

meaning, that I have been cultivating contaminants...I got a little bored several months back and decided to try something different, I originaly started with cobweb mold in a myco bag on rye grain....using the same technique that most people would use for cloning, I have taken the stronger cultures and propagated them....the end result...a very dificult to kill cobweb mold, not a delicate form, it's tougher than pulling apart polyfill.....my Trichoderma aggressivum, aka. the green mold...it seems to have a difficult time fighting off the bacteria. my black mold did not fare well against the mycelium yet...but I have hope....
I became very acustomed to using clean techniques for inocculation of plates and handling many of the cultures, honestly, I dont worry much about contams anymore, I have actualy contaminated many of my cultures in order to try and kill the contaminants...ok...so I'm weird....but I've learned a great deal about these things.....
