ebay really?
so hey snaggle, you have been a good help with some of my issues latley.
so check this out, do you think it is cheaper to purchase petri dishes and then transfer the colonized mycelium onto my 50/50?
or just stick with the wbs?

Yeah, section off a vigorous mycelium wedge,

And then transfer to WBS, best is to use a flowhood, but at least a glove box,

Well if that is the case, this route might be more difficult.

When I hear this type of issue, I say brake down what you are doing, not how you want to, but what you are doing,

What kind of contaminates are you getting and where and when do they show up,

It might take time, but go slowly, it is often something soooo simple that it is easily over looked,

Petri dishes are between $50 and $75 for a box of 500 from www.cenmed.com They come 20 to a sleeve, presterilized. Glass petri dishes are not suitable for mycology due to the large numbers we go through. I often have several hundred at a time going depending on the number of experiments.

Also bear in mind that Petri dishes are not for the purpose of expanding mycelium. They're for isolating strains from each other and from contaminants.
