oh... you want sources....

Welp, since your sources date from as far back as 1906 and the most recent is 1987, and since none are available online, I can't look them up.

I guess you prefer to win debates by attrition rather than by Truth. I concede.

You mean this 'refutation': im no homeopathic expert, but i think the whole idea behind it is that there is some "imprint" on water from it.

So I part per trillion would 'imprint' water more than one per per million?  If this were true and not some mystic quackery, then the difference would be measurable.

LMAO :rofl2:

From the FRONT PAGE of your link:

Conclusions: Small sample size precludes definitive answers, but results
from this preliminary trial suggest that homeopathy may be of value
in the treatment of menopausal symptoms and improving quality of life,
especially in those women not on tamoxifen. Larger studies should be carried out that also include healthy women who want to avoid hormone replacement therapy.

Once again supporting my point that EVERY SINGLE STUDY done under proper double-blind protocols has been either inconclusive or negative. And once again exposing mystic proponents' penchant for superstition over Truth at any cost.

i dont think anyone claims to know how homeopathy works. But I have shown you multiple studies which show that it has a substantially higher success than placebo.

just because something cannot be measured or quantized doesn't mean it is impossible. try walking to your next conclusion.

so.... can we see some studies which conclusivly prove that homeopathy doesn't work?

not if you keep thinking your logic is THE logic.

your openning post has shown no flaw in homeopathy. it merely shows us that logically (to you) homeopathy shouldn't work... dont get your shouldn't and doesn't confused.

You can't prove a negative. Philosophy 101. Check it out, then get back to me.

If you say otherwise, please prove that there are no Flying Spaghetti Monsters.

[Actually, it's you can't prove contingent negative existentials, but that's another thread]

how is it a "negative"? especially when there are multiple cases of it?

The placebo effect isnt even logical. science isn't able to explain that. (not that I have seen)

So be it placebo or homeopathy, something is actually working.... i think we can agree that many studies have shown that.

shouldn't that be enough substance for science to be able to disprove?

or do they just bury their heads in the sand and say the world is flat.

Science has eaten a lot of crow, and will continue to do so until it can see past its own limitations.

psilocyberin,

Can you not see that even a billion conclusively-negative studies show only that a billion studies didn't find evidence of homeopathy. No matter how many negative studies are done, they cannot prove non-efficacy.

No matter how many places I don't find a Flying Spaghetti Monster, I have not proven they don't exist.

That said, after spending my entire life finding nary a trace of FSM, it is reasonable to conclude that they almost certainly don't exist.

Science has eaten a lot of crow, and will continue to do so until it can see past its own limitations

Science eats no crow because it says nothing is fact. Its only statement on every topic it studies is:

"This is what the currently-available evidence indicates. This statement is subject to revision if new evidence becomes available."

That's the beauty of science: it's a self-correcting system.

Only a hard-core true believer disinterested in the genuine search for Truth could dismiss science's biggest strength as "eating crow". :frown:

Quantumpathy

Swami! What a great idea! Let's start a business to capitalize on this nonsense, er, I mean this fascinating new therapy. After all, we can confidently advertise that not one single scientific study has ever disproved Quantumpathy!

Are you in?

Just as I am sure that some placebos have a substantially higher success rate as compared to other placebos. This doesn't make the more successful one not a placebo.

Of course! All we need is:

A cool website with a FAQ and some tesimonials and picture of nature.

Some nice bottles with fancy labels.

Some water.

A service to cash the checks.

Some young hardbodies and a yacht to spend all the money on.

Too simple!

Don't forget Sylvia Brown. We have to get her on board as a celebrity testimonial.

We'll have to photoshop that pic before publishing. I'll get on it.

Always the same: As soon as people don't understand something, they start kidding and mocking arround...limited understanding, I would say.

Diploid:"You can't prove a negative. Philosophy 101. Check it out, then get back to me."
So I can't prove, that if I am sitting in my car and push the starter-button, my engine won't start up ?
I don't think so...

As long as homeopathy works in a different matter than classical medicine (equal with equal), the mechanisms how it works have not been found out, yet.

Keep on bashing, limited minds. You will hide if the truth reveals.
