Former classmate is an acid casualty * 1
    #5109999 - 12/27/05 01:38 AM (18 years, 9 months ago)

I just found out that a black guy who I went to school with is now basically insane because he took too much acid by accident years ago. Story has it that he used to deal acid and apparently and had a sheet in his pants one day when it rained. The rain caused the acid to absorb into his skin.

My friend told me that the last time he saw this guy, he was wearing a turban and was walking around with a wizard type staff talking to himself. My friend went up to him and talked to him. After he was finished talking to him, he guy immediately went back into his own world, talking to himself and what not. It's so strange to hear that this happened to someone that I knew (sort of) and even stranger to hear that it was a black guy who it happened to.

I've never seen that movie. No, I don't have any proof or links to show you. Actually, this is the second person that I know who had acid absorb into his skin because of the rain. The other guy was a close friend of mine. He didn't go insane, but he said that while he was tripping, he would look at people and their heads would just melt right off of their shoulders. He spent 3 days in a closet until it wore off.

This other guy apparently didn't fare so well. It's hard to believe that he lost his shit forever like that.

It is a very powerful substance and sometimes it just dosn't jive to well with some people. I'm finding that out about myself as I've been starting to go bat shit crazy in the last month or so.

Urban myth? I mean I can't prove it, but one of my best friends was the guy who saw him. He IS indeed "out there" now. My friend wouldn't lie to me. Another friend confirmed that it was the acid that caused him to lose his shit. While that could be speculation, I believe it. She told me as if it were common knowledge around town that this is what sent him over the edge. Do you doubt that acid can do this to people??

Hard to believe that acid could make someone go insane??  You know nothing about LSD apparently.

Right.  "Acid can drive a man insane" is an urban legend just like the spine thing.

When did I say that I wasn't going to let him live his life?  You guys are just trying to be argumentative.

I'm telling you that I KNOW that this happened to a close friend of mine.  He didn't go insane, but it DID happen.  Why is this so hard to believe??  I don't care if you don't believe me, though.

If you had a SHEET of acid in your pocket and you got rained on, the LSD would most certainly get into your skin. Hofmann's first trip was from LSD that had absorbed through his skin. What am I doing arguing with you.

I dont believe that some guy took a sheet of acid, and it permamently made him totally nuts. This isnt reasonable at all. You dont go normal, to utterly insane overnight, it is a gradual thing, and even then, I doubt highly someone would just become completely unintelligeable.

It was maybe the acid triggering an underlying mental illness, but i seriously doubt that that much LSD could be absorbed that way to produce said effects.

If it were like that every person who has thumbprinted would be completly off their rocker.
