Puerto Casing question

just cased a fully colonized, crumbled puerto cake, using Hawk's 50-50+ it's been like (humm) 3 days and i see several spots with new myc. growth on the casing layer (several dime sized patches)...Now i'm quite aware that puertos have problems with overlay,and that one should cold shock to initiate pinning...what i want to know is... When should we cold shock our babies and throw them back in the terrarium? also bout how long to cold shock...
