Pot Shwag Questions...

What is shwag?

Is it a type of weed plant or a part of the plant?

If it is a type of plant why does it still exsist?

I never smoke shwag. The high lasts like 1/2 hour or so and is just generally nasty compared to chron. If it is a plant why hasn't it been phased out by chron plants by now?

I've noticed in 5 or so years time that, the very few times I have access to weed, it has been more and more chron instead of shwag. Is this shwag being phased out?

chron and shwag are just slang terms for good and bad weed.

In cannabis culture, shwag most often refers to low quality marijuana, generally grown in mass quantities. Shwag typically contains many seeds, which the user must remove, and has a somewhat lower THC content, meaning a larger amount must be smoked to feel high. This is opposed to other, higher quality marijuana such as kindbud or hydro, both of which are much given much more attention during the growing process. They usually lack seeds, and contain a significantly larger THC percentage than shwag.

just for clarification kind bud IS hydro.  Recently i just converted one of my golfing partners from schwag to chron.  First time he smoked it was with me he said "ive never been this high off of two hits of ANYthing in my life".  From that point on he said "i cant smoke the shitty stuff anymore".  Been hooking him up with dank ever since.  Laughed at him a few days ago when he said "buddy of mine had some decent weed, nothing like yours, but he called it 'kind bud'" Stuff like that just makes me giggle, i love oldheads who talk like they know :smile:

Hydro, or dro refers to bud that is grown hydroponically, or without soil.

Schwag is also known as "commerical" weed. It's grown in large amounts and the plants become pollinated which makes them produce seeds - which, in turn, takes away from the THC content. Simple as that.

The term "hydro" is ill-advised.

You can grow "schwag" or low quality buds hydroponically.  So is this how we are to determine the variations in quality of pot?  By calling it hydro, and then selling it for more than it's worth because it's "dro"?

I do like converting people though.  It's fun! :laugh:

Ahh okay. The only hydro I've had blew my mind, made me trip out basically, strong CEV's, the whole thing man. I figured that all dro was...good...

I didn't like the taiste though which is actually a big thing to me. I think I'd rather smoke home grown from the soil chron.

you can get as high quality bud from the soil as you can from hydroponic systems, but it's harder to control every element when growing outdoor. Hydro seems to be consistently better because the grower controls everything and usually knows what they're doing.

I smoke schwag on occasion. (not lately though i'm givin it a break til newyears)

the reason schwag isn't phased out is because it's cheaper and more common. Most people i know around here have never smoked hydro. I am close to mexico though so that may be why.

The main problem with "shwag" is its just straight up not taken care of well because its grown in such big quantities. Also its probably sun dried quickly and then pressed into big blocks. This breaks seads open and its not cured so taste can be rough.

Lately "shwag" has been less common. Even the bulk outdoor as of the past few years have been looking a lot better in general. Greener, less seads and the prices are going down(maybe just my location but i can get ounces of great sensi outdoor for 150 or crap brick for 75). Never used to get prices that good... well not for like 5 years.

it's weird, here we get oz for $50 but it's decent. Far too many dopeheads now. Almost everyone i knew that had bud is dopefucked. When bud is brought in it's gotta atleast be decent for anyone to even mess with. That's one good thing. But, I don't buy schwag anymore, and only smoke it when i go to my hometown.

You can thank (in part) the Patriot Act & various post-911 legislation for that me thinks. 

Due to heightened border security, the international cartels that are responsible for much of the moderate to lower grade
marijuana have been moving into our national park system for their growing on account of the fact that the national parks
have an uncannily disproportionate amount of federal workforce to police the amount of land!  Some op's get found,
most don't.. :smirk:

There was always lots of shwag around where I used to live-- too much, in fact. My theory with the shwag is that it's grown in huge plots in Mexico, pressed into bricks (seeds&stems, too) and then smuggled across the border and distributed around the country.

There should be no shwag.

i love california, i have not even seen bammer weed for years.(since 7th or 8th grade) I am 24 now, and would rather stay sober than smoked that brick stems seed and shit. the last time i smoked it was in cancun cause they don't have good weed down there. it gave me a sore throat a headache and didnt even get me high. Only sinsemilla these days.
