I have a bad habit of doing that zappa...

Especially when I get fired up, which is all the time unfortunately...

It's very hard for me to understand how people with drastically different viewpoints then my own can think the way that they do, but it doesn't help my arguments at all when I am all over the map like that.

But in my mind in a way all of these issues are interrelated. 

I mean any government that truly respects the ideals that are written down in your constitution would not hold people without trial, IMO...

So if they don't respect your constitution, what's to keep them from starting these camps at home someday...hence, the police state...

But your right I should definitely stick to the topic, perhaps I will open up a thread for Guantanamo separate from this one...

Seriously though guys, I DO like to hear the other side of the argument even though I don't agree with it.  Perhaps someday someone will come up with an argument that will have me buying stock in Halaburtan the very next day... :grin:

Am I the only person that sees through the whole "war on terrorism"? Stuff like this should not be happening in the US. The water is getting warmer and will soon cook the frog.

Now thats just stupid.

I remember after the Lakers playoff games last year a "police state" surrounded the staples center.. Crews removed any trash that could be set on fire, set up road blocks and nobody was let into an area of 4 blocks around the stadium.. Within the hot zone any group of people standing and talking were "moved along" by the police by pushing them untill they were out of the zone and even then more cops were around to break up groups larger than 5.

It was sad and people were fucking pissed.


it would be sad if los angelinos hadn't proved they
have a pension for wanton destruction and violence...

especially around sporting events.

really, what's so deplorable about trying to get people
out and away from Staples in a timely and safe manner
in an attempt to avoid the rioting and violence that
has gone on before?
