The first thing Hitler did when he became Chancellor was to disarm the public. Germany did not invade Switzerland specifically because it was a well-armed country. When you take away the public's right to bear arms, you take away ANY chance of resistance. This is even more necessary in recent years when the US government has proven over and over again that it is willing to restrict its citizen's rights.

Once more, we live in a Republic, not a full Democracy. This means that once we elect a politician to represent us, said politician is free to do as he wishes. The possibility of losing the coming election is only somewhat of a deterrant. As can be seen by Clinton's last-minute pardonings of clear criminals, a next term might be the only thing preventing some politicians from making rash and freedom-denying actions.

When Uncle Sam decides he can roll tanks into your neighborhood, will you fight back?

"This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!" - Adolph Hitler, April 15, 1935

"Germans who wish to use firearms should join the SS or the SA - ordinary citizens don't need guns, as their having guns doesn't serve the state." - Heinrich Himmler

"They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin

No you don't need money to leave your country. Look at the thousands of pennyless immigrants and refugees who come to Canada every year. Some may be denied, but I can guarantee you if you are from the US you probably won't be (a sad fact, but probably true).

There is always an option.

No but if you take  a persons right to bare arms eventually the people with the money to buy and supply the hicks with what they  would need to take on a fight  like that will find it much harder to do so maybe impossible to do so adequately but with  2nd Amend in place we still have a chance and there are rules to warfare in the event of a  war they cant just bomb away. There are regulations that the world would be watching . obviously its way much more complicated then i care to explain or feel like typing but if you are against the 2nd amend you are a fool but keep pushing for stricter gun laws theyve  worked great in chicago so far.
Just one more thing imagine blowing to all hell your land. There are a million things here...many varibles some simple some not but these young people need a wake up call...supporting bernie sanders the socialist. You know most  authoritarian regimes have been socialist or communists right?

Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.”

From  http://www.smokedot.org/ : "On this one-year anniversary of 9/11, I thought it might be worthwhile to review some of the fundamental  changes to Americans' legal rights by the Bush administration and the USA Patriot Act following the terror attacks. If 9/11 was an 'attack on our freedoms,' just whose side is our government on?"

From the Associated Press:

FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION: Government may monitor religious and political institutions without suspecting criminal activity to assist terror investigation.
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION: Government has closed once-public immigration hearings, has secretly detained hundreds of people without charges, and has encouraged bureaucrats to resist public records requests.
FREEDOM OF SPEECH: Government may prosecute librarians or keepers of any other records if they tell anyone that the government subpoenaed information related to a terror investigation.
RIGHT TO LEGAL REPRESENTATION: Government may monitor federal prison jailhouse conversations between attorneys and clients, and deny lawyers to Americans accused of crimes.
FREEDOM FROM UNREASONABLE SEARCHES: Government may search and seize Americans' papers and effects without probable cause to assist terror investigation.
RIGHT TO A SPEEDY AND PUBLIC TRIAL: Government may jail Americans indefinitely without a trial.
RIGHT TO LIBERTY: Americans may be jailed without being charged or being able to confront witnesses against them.

Obama bill up the police state"

Is Obama planning to have a Civilian Security Force in addition to the military?

"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."
