First time salvia user...

I saw threads with salvia mentioned in the title but didn't know what it was and never read to find out. Finally I read one and then others.... then went and bought a "sampler pack". It included 1oz. of leaf, 1g of 5x, and 1g of 10x.

I went to my friends...also a skeptical veteran tripper...house, who had somehow never heard of it either, and sat down for a session. He went first, and then he sat there with a blank look on his face and started to slowly stand up.

As he rose, I noticed drool started pouring from the sides of his mouth. He stood there and braced himself against the wall and stared blankly at me and then behind him. He did that for a couple of minutes, looking rather pitiful actually, and then managed to utter; "can we breakout". I asked him what he was gonna' break out of, and he just stared at me.

Another minute or so passes and he seems to begin to regain his awareness of his surroundings. He says his first thought when his mind stopped tripping was; "why are you here". He had forgot that I came over and brought the salvia or that he was even on it. All of a sudden he realized the experience he just had was associated with the salvia.

From his tripping perspective everything in the room was saran wrapped with liquid mercury/light streaming off the edges of everything. He was uncomfortable and would have probably gotten scared if he hadn't looked at me and saw me looking calm even though I was saran wrapped too.

He was so confused by the trip that he did not feel comfortable being my sitter yet. About 2 weeks later I returned for "my turn".

I had completely clear visual awareness of everything in the room. Everything on the right and left sides of the room appeared to be sliced into 1 inch thick layers and each layer slid back and forth...like someone rubbing there hands together for warmth.

Meanwhile... the large couch I was on, felt like a small chair. And ....hmmmm....errrr....a pentagon shaped ring was bumping me rythmically from behind. This ring was large and took up a portion of the center of the room. When it hit me I could see the other side of the ring impress itself into the coffe table and everything that it touched.

The ring didn't hurt but was definitely annoying, the shrinking couch gave me a little bit of a claustrophobia, and the layered sliding sides of the room didn't bother me except that it was confusing.

All in all the trip itself wasn't bad...it was bad that I didn't have any memory of doing salvia while tripping. The reason that my friend and I both came out of this experience not particularly caring for salvia is not because of what happened while we were tripping.... but the fact that we had NO IDEA WHY we were hallucinating.

I can handle strong acid and strong shrooms because I know that I am on them and I just roll with the flow. But with this salvia, you just start hallucinating with no knowledge of why...that sucks. IMHO

Anyway, does repeated salvia use lead to eventual awareness that your tripping?

Not so far - I started using Salvia about a year ago.
That's why there's no getting used to it, you're out there peeled naked every time.
DMT's the same way - at least when you smoke it.

I tried it for my first time about 6 years ago. Personally, I can say that you are still not aware you ingested salvia. You aren't even aware that you have hair, a body, a name, or even what a name is.

It's really more about accepting everything going on as it comes, and not trying to justify what you see with the drug itself. Make no mistake that it is a manifestation of your own subconscious bleeding through the cracks.

It's kind of like an intense dream. The whole time it may seem real, even after you wake up... but if at any point you realize while asleep that you are in a dream, it loses a little bit of it's intensity, since you know you can wake yourself up at that point.

sounds like the friend went to level 6 which usually involves fear and amnesia, and Bamaman went to level 5 which usually involves discorporeality and often some fear but some strong recollections.

it is not easy to get the dose right on, but a pinch of 10x (1/20th to 1/50th of a gram) is all that is required to get to a level 4 - visionary state.

unlike money, more is not better. level 4 is the target. you can keep going there and nothing is better except lsd. but with lsd you are locked in for hours; salvia is a very short commitment.

As for knowing why your hallucinations are happenning, keep watching how your senses and memory work, you'll get it, eventually. Layered synthesis of moments including fragments of sensation through time smeared together.

I keep a pad and pen handy as much of what happens is exciting to write down at the time - I also keep a glass of water - refreshing & smooth.

this crazy salvia talk has me urged to try this deviner's mint... Always wondered about the thing, it seems really fucked and sparks curiousity, but I wouldn't want to freak out and have a siezure or some shit...

Does anyone think that it's something worth trying, but I have no clue who would be my sitter, most of my friends aren't into psychedelics other than mushies, and I think they would consider me nuts.

We've all done whole bunch of things together, but this sounds extreme.... does it live up it's expectation?

for the record, there are also a decent amount of people that never feel it's effects. but if it hits you, you won't forget it anytime soon.

Salvia never does this to me, for me it's always the same.

1) My whole body feels heavy
2) I start to sweat all over (or maybe it just feels like I'm sweating).
3) I can't talk anymore, my brain forms sentences but my mouth can't keep up. This is also the point I get really happy, but I don't know what I'm happy about.
4) I get very disoriented, existing doesn't feel the same, I feel like I'm in an unfamiliar place but everything visually looks the same.
5) I come down.

And that's it. No visuals or life changing hallucinations or inspiring thoughts, just a jumbled mess really. This is after about 6 attemps with varying doses and extracts.

sounds like level 5 takes hold but no visual cortex action happens.
at least you get something, some get nothing nohow.
the only guy I know personally who gets nothing has diabetes, which is not much of a correlation except the kor receptors have something to do with gut pain sensitivity.

usually it exceeds my expectations (in unexpected ways - better not to expect), and the mushroom friends will find it neat that you are all the way up so high so fast, then back again.
the body load on it is all mental based.
not like physical neuronal chemical seizures that you could get with the speed derivatives or coke etc.
I reccommend 10x standardized so you don't have a lot of smoking - one good pull is enough.
