my idea to save energy

This is really a brilliant idea. You see, a lot of people can't handle commitment. Like making toast. They go for one slice instead of just making 2 slices.

Now you look at the toaster and there's like this arrow thingy telling you to put the toast in that slot. But what about the other slot? You could make a toast shaped solar panel for that.

I mean think about it. With one slice you're operating at 50% effeciency.

I think you should kill yourself to save energy unless of course you plan on getting cremated. :mushroom2:

and what let the toaster heat up the solar pannel for the whole 1 min or whatever it is?.. not trying to be a dick, im trying to understand ur suggestion.

Solar panels convert light to electricity.. not heat, at least thats my understanding.. and wouldn't it be more efficient to make a switch to turn off the other sides elements? :wink:

I have a bunch of them in my shower. Sometimes I just leave it running on full hot to help save electricity.

You know, I was thinking of making an energy stealer. Peltier pads work in reverse, that is, if you make one side hot, and keep the other cool.. the terminals will produce electric current... my heating and hot water are both included, so I could technically make an array of peltier pads, and mount it in my window frame.. and crank the heat, theyd suck the heat right out the window, and in the process generate a few hundred watts. (a 4cmx4cm pad will produce about 4watts to 5watts with a 20c delta.) :smile:

I've already sourced the pads, just havent put the plan into action, heh.
