Buying opium poppies

I haven't been been able to find any info on whether opium poppy heads (Papaver somniferum) are illegal in the UK. I know the seeds are but I don't want the hassle of growing. If they are legal are there any websites selling them?

Opium poppies legal unless prepared, like the old shroom laws.

I guess selling fresh heads is a bit close to that line for online trade.

Just grow, it's easy!

As far as I know it's legal to sell dried poppy heads.  You can buy them in flower  shops as they are used decoratively for flower arranging. Until recently you could buy them on EBAY.  I don't know if they put a stop to that or if they are just out of season now.

Mmmm.... poppy tea.  Is there anything more comforting?  :syringe:  :sad:
