Make dancing part of your daily schedule
    #4942271 -

Thats what i'm gonna do.  Just spontaneously get up and start dancing whenever i'm mindful enough to remember to do it.
I think it's healthy.  Vigourous dancing elevates my heart beat more effectively than jogging.  It makes you feel good.  You sit down afterwords, with a glow.
The glow is life.  And the more you can glow, the better off everything is.
Phish, Grateful Dead, toots and the maytals, etc.  Things that make me dance.

If you're not paralyzed, you can dance.  :yesnod:
Hell, vigorously tapping your foot could be considered dancing so far as I'm concerned.
Start there, then start to jiggle the hips 'n shoulders, arms - boom, you're a dancin' fool!

Good post PetyoteZen!  When I was ever so young I would dance non-stop.  Then came puberty and the onset of the paranoia & self-consciousness that all to often arises from trying to conform to the most common social conventions of those around you.  THEN, oh yes, then, I asked myself why in the hell it matters what other people think of me, and ultimately realized that the only thing that matters is what I think of me.. now quite often I find myself jivin' in motion to the music, don't matter if I'm too drunk to be in on the rhythm, life is a party and it is fun to be a groovin' fool :sun:

There's mosquitoes on the river
Fish are rising up like birds
It's been hot for seven weeks now
Too hot to even speak now
Did you hear what I just heard?

Say, it might have been a fiddle
Or it could have been the wind
But there seems to be a beat now
I can feel it in my feet now
Listen here it comes again

There's a band out on the highway
They're high-stepping into town
It's a rainbow full of sound
It's fireworks, calliopes and clowns
Everybody's dancing

Come on children, come on children
Come on clap your hands

Sun went down in honey
And the moon came up in wine
You know stars were spinning dizzy
Lord the band kept us so busy
We forgot about the time

They're a band beyond description
Like Jehovah's favourite choir
People joining hand in hand
While the music plays the band
Lord they're setting us on fire

Crazy rooster crowing midnight
Balls of lightning roll along
Old men sing about their dreams
Women laugh and children scream
And the band keeps playing on

Keep on dancing through to daylight
Greet the morning air with song
No one's noticed but the band's all packed and gone
Was it ever here at all?
But they kept on dancing

Come on children, come on children
Come on clap your hands

Well the cool breeze came on Tuesday
And the corn's a bumper crop
And the fields are full of dancing
Full of singing and romancing
The music never stopped

It;'s impossible for me to not move while listening to music...I'm always dancing a little when it's on.

Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake.

hell yeah... i've come to the same decition this morning when i was watching this crazy japanies movie (i'm not sure what its called in english maybe "dance of the deggars"? or something like that...)
there's this part when the girl is supposed to do a test (dance) for the officer and she stands in the middle of a drum circle and he throws something on one of the drums and she reacts hiting some of the drums... fucking amazing and my discription is no where close...

i've been going to contact lessons lately... it's really fun!!!
you should check it out!
contact is a form of free dance for two people... it's kinda like a conversation and there's no rules or anything except that you're supposed to be tuching each other and using eachothers balance
doesn't matter what part of the body you're in contact with
look it up it's one of the best things i've ever done!

I think you're referring to the opening sequence in the film: House of Flying Daggers.  Cool movie & beautiful cinematography

Hey that sounds like a great idea! I am sure dancing is healthy as well and good for the soul.
I am not the best dancer either but I atleast try to dance, but usually I do it at the clubs, and not at home.. :smirk:

yeah that'd be it!
i was freaking blasted when i was watching it and the second i understood what was going on in that scean i started moving like crazy(we got it for free on DVD so i wasn't worried about not actualy watching it... i was having way too much fun dancing with it) when i'm stoned i can find my "center" and my balance way better so i was actualy moving like i WANTED to move what made it EVEN better!

i really gotta start taking tai-chi and yoga... i feel a NEED to move right and be in balance!

here's something i wrote after the first time i expirianced contact dancing

"Her tuned swaying was shaping my balance
Like water on a pebble directing my rigid bones
Liquidizing my intentions
Charging my body with energy"

it's pretty short and i always wanted to add to it but... well i can't not so far anyway...

I dance multiple times a day. If I have the day off and just lounge around the house I always have my CD magazine loaded and spinning and I'll prolly put in 1-2 hours of dancing that day. I'm a horrible dancer.
