I use an eight quart pressure cooker, it cost me forty dollars at a local mom and pop kitchen supply store. Walmart sells an eight quart for about fifty bucks. In my opinion, anything under eight quarts is not worth purchasing. It fits eight half pint jars at a time, and when I use it to sterlize casing, I can fit 3 trays worth of casing.

There is a place online called "The Pressure Cooker Outlet".

I picked up a 22qt PC for $76.00 US delivered. IMHO if your gonna spend 50.00 on an 8qt, just spend 25.00 more and get something much better.

Check out your local thrift shops. I've seen several perfectly good pc's for around $5. Make sure the seal is in good condition.

. Look for a Goodwill donation center in your area. I found a nice All American #7 (old) for one dollar. I had to clean it up a bit , but it works great and has no gasket to wear out.
