Walmart Pressure Cooker Scam
#470816 - 11/27/01 01:38 AM (22 years, 13 days ago) |
|

here is my plan : a) go to walmart and buy pressurecooker b) use pressurecooker to sterilize stuff c) return pressurecooker, saying its unused, and was opened only to realize it was too small for its intended use. Think it will fly?

I'm sure it will fly. that doesn't address the fact that people who do that give me a really nasty feeling deep down inside, tho.

If yur gonna cheat the system.. you better do it right the first time. I dont personally run scams anymore.. am pretty much on the level now except for a little bit o psycodelics.. heres what you do: 1)Go to wally and buy the best pc you can find. 2)take it out to yur car, take it outa the box, replace it with a brick or somethin so the box is still heavy. 3) go back into walmart, trying to avoid being seen upon re-entry. 4) quickly exchange yur empty box with a PC still on the shelf. dont be stupid and grab a different brand.. common sence... 5) walk towards the exit, grab a stick of gum, pay for it, and when you do be sure to show her the reciept for the PC. the PC should be in the bag they gave you.. this will help convince em that you didnt go grab another one. 6) Now that you have 2 pressure cookers for the price of one, yur still not satisfied, right? it still put ya out like 60 bones.. 7) Go back to wally a couple weeks later with one of the PCs and the reciept(check their return policy on lenght of time before returning stuff) go to customer service desk and return it for money. 8) You now have 1 free pressure cooker. cost? your time and dignity. TIPS: dress like a regular trustworthy person.. try to keep out of the way of sales people while shopping. try not to be noticed. Also, when you go back later to get yur money back, be sure to return the pressure cooker you DIDNT open.. this way you can jus be like i got home and read the box and found out it was way to small. have fun.

I'm not that cheap, and I'm not a thief, I'd just like to defer the cost of a pressure cooker (if that) to a multinational corporation that probably isnt going to notice either way.

You don't need a pressure cooker to sterilize you need heat.....Fundaments are more important than equipment....

No, but a pressure cooker is what people usually use, and I'm comfortable with using, after using one in the past, I'm not reinventing teks, I'm just scamming a pc off of walmart.

I honestly dont think I'm scamming anyone, I use the pressure cooker, attain value from it, while Walmart holds my money (and attains values through investments, etc.), and then return the product to the store, which then returns the value to me. We're both happier because we both gain something (me, the usage of the pressure-cooker, them, the usage of my capital). And yes, I know that the pressure-cooker is capital too. Whatever, shut up ;) Its not about making money, its not about scamming, its not about stealing. It's about shaving corners where I can, so I can experience the experiences I want to - without fucking up my financial well-being inthe meantime.

So on that note, what pressure cooker from Wal-Mart would you guys reccomend? Also, could someone give me the fundamentals of using a pressure cooker... I know it probably comes with a book, but could someone give me an overview?

how the hell do you get all the way to the pressure cookers without being noticed by security and shit? i think i would be all paranoid while trying to do it and end up doing something rash, but it does sound like a good plan....i guess im gonna go try it

Don't try it. Heres the thing : what he is talking about is thieving, what I am talking about is borrowing, does that shed light on the subject a bit more for you? Do what I'm going to do, not the "buy it, steal another, return one"plan, thats just wrong. Is it really worth getting caught shoplifting a pressure cooker, when you could just "borrow" one from the store much more legitly and RETURN it ? This is all fictional anyway..blah blah.

Not that i'm trying to encourage stealing........but i think i have a suggestion to improve on that scam. Bringing the PC box filled with weights back into walmart isnt the best idea. The switching part would be very hard. Around here, walmart has camera's up the ass. It would be quite hard to pull it off without the cameras, and the workers seeing, along with all the undercover security. I suggest that instead, you only take the receipt back in, get another PC, and grab something a lil more 'expensive' than a gum. Something to do with the pressure cooker would be a very good idea. I cant really tell you how to do it, but a good thief knows what looks suspicious and what doesnt. Walk around with the PC a bit before you pick up the other smaller item. Now, when you go up to the cashier, pay for the small item, and show her the receipt for the PC, out of the view of the cameras. To the person watching the screens, you're paying, so you're ok. Anyway, if you dress properly (leave the baggy pants at home will ya?), the camera ppl wont suspect someone trying to steal a huge fuckin object like that, especialy if youre already going to the cashier anyway. Return original PC a week later, as said before. But whatever. I wouldnt do it. Stealing isnt the best, and its not like they cost SO much. Just invest a bit.

buy it use it once take it back yeah walmart is a way too rich multi national, (they've run a lot of good Canadian owned businesses out of existence here) and i've done this exact scam myself many times the karma thing is something to consider, but who's to say your not an agent delivering walmart's karma? the words of Christ are harder to get around, the turn the other cheek thing. Hell, if you can't afford one, there's no harm done in "THE WALMART PRESSURE COOKER SCAM" maybe the idea should be listed in the Grow/Find section.

Pretty cheesy thing to do.

i see nothing wrong with buying something, using it, then returning it. if somone else can buy it and its still in undamaged condition, then you are not stealing and walmart or where ever is not loosing any money. but..... dont you want to keep growing. i can see returning something that you are only going to use once....but won't you use that again?

You can try to justify it anyway you want, it's still not right. Imagine if you will, you own a store and someone did this to you. There's right... there's wrong.

thats true, kid why not keep it, it will pay for itself. i feel like i'm doing a pc infomecial. if someone robbed my ass and gave what ever they took back in perfect condition, then they were just borrowing it. i'm not saying its right, i know its wrong, but i wouldn't go so far as to say it was really steeling. people return shit all the time if they're not happy with it. if you use it once and you're not going to use it again, then you must not be happy with it

I actually just bought the 16gal. PC. It seems like a real nice unit. Pressures are 5lbs., 10lbs. and 15lbs. I agree that you don't want the bad karma! Not only that, but are you going to run your scam every time you want to inoculate? I'm just going to make some awesome pickles with mine!

NOT only did I purchase my PC from them, but I just bought my Poly-fil from them too. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't find the dog food containers that I saw on another thread. Guy uses them for inoc, glove box, fruiting, etc. They were nice and only $14.00. I don't think that they carry them anymore.

i can't believe there are so many idiots on here encouraging this shit.
i hate wal-mart with a passion.
that said, it's totally uncool to jack shit like that. spend $60 or better yet, invest $200 and buy a real pressure cooker like an all-american.
don't talk about ripping people off around here man.
now go outside and play.

Also, when you go back later to get yur money back, be sure to return the pressure cooker you DIDNT open.. this way you can jus be like i got home and read the box and found out it was way to small.

have fun.
I agree this thread should die
But I fucking LOVE this,I bought a drill and a hole saw to make a mono tub once and returned it the next day
