Air is something regardless of whether we agree on it or not, remember atoms and molecules? I suppose as compared to air nothing would be defined as a vacuum.

A vacuum can be measured, if not in pressure than in dimension.
Therefore, a vacuum is still something.

Nothing is nothing. "Nothing" doesnt exist on earth, because there's constantly "something" around us...such as gas, radiation...and so forth.

Space is endless...so they say. Maybe you'll find "nothing" out there....HOWEVER, if you are out there, then there is SOMETHING, because you are in it. How can "nothing" exist if your floating right in the middle of it? It has to exist, because its all around you.

MY CONCLUSION:
"Nothing" doesnt exist.

good ideas, but thoughts ideas and emotions are still SOMETHING, because we are making them other than nothing.

it is impossible to see nothing with your eyes, because if you SEE something it is something.

It is also impossible to PERCIEVE nothing because once you percieve something to be nothing... you're making it something.

Taoism focuses on this concept quite a bit, and in the Tao Te Ching its writer Lao Tzu came to the conclution that it is impossible to understand what the Tao (nothingness) is because once you've come to an understanding of WHAT it is, you're making it something by giving it identity... by simply giving it fathomable thought. On the other hand he states that those who don't know, know nothingness, but those who know don't know it... explained by what I just said above. So as soon as one strives to understand, to know what nothingness is, the further he or she is taking themself from knowing it.

Its like trying to physically find some kind of diety in the material world. You won't find it because a diety is within your mind, its a part of your imagination that explains something for you... like a virtue. Nothingness, then, is simply that which you don't know yet or even know exists yet. Thats why there is an infinate amount of nothingness in the universe; there will always be something more to learn, somewhere else to evolve.
