Day trading question

I know some people here are into day trading. I would like to open an account somewhere but I don't know which sites are good or reputable. Anyone have an account or know any good on line trading sites you could recommend?

i use ameritrade


you need a special day trader's
account if you want to be making
over a certain number of trades
per day.


i think the minimum balance to get started
it quite high.


i currently am doing non-growth investment
with a grand which i have saved thus far for
college.

it is doing well, i have stock in pier 1
kramont realty trust and asbc (a banking corp)

every quarter i make roughly 40 bucks in dividends
which is a fuck of a lot better than the piddling
interest rate sin my saving's account of olde.

that shit probly didn't even cover inflation!  :shocked:

If you're planning on daytrading, the best broker for you is http://www.interactivebrokers.com/index.html

I've been daytrading S&P futures with them and for the most part have been very happy with them.

I've also got an account with www.datek.com (now ameritrade as they were bought out). I'd close that account if IB had a check writing feature, I've not done anything with it since opening the IB account.

Shop around & read reviews before you decide, but if you want to daytrade, IB is the best, IMO.

Oh, and be careful daytrading, it's a great way to turn big money into little money fast.
