Okay, this dream is very symbolic.
The curb that smashes your head is obviously your father's penis and the airport is your mother's breasts. The fact that you were confused upon meeting your friends means that you had developmental problems in the penile stage of infancy and later became anal expulsive in the anal stage. Your id, ego, and superego are definaltely out of balance and the death in your dreams suggests you are a homosexual!
Seriously though, I'm not sure what it means.

to me; your dream is about the way your friends are not really being honest about learning the death process, which makes your perception of death as fragile as jelly, cause you haven't formed anything substance yet. You die and come back to show them that death is not really just a black void where you sit around and say how much it sucks to not exist; it's circular and your meet them at the airport to let this idea 'take off' but instead they are angry, or something. i wouldn't hesitate to 'die' many times in your dreams, you'll find footing in lack of seance and regeneration.

Hey man, mocking my boy Sigmund is not cool. Oh well, "Invictus" is one of my favorite poems so I'll let it slide (if that is what your title refers to).
While we're on the topic of dreams, I had an extremely odd dream experience last night that was quite unlike anything I've experienced before. This dream seemed more like a series of vivid hallucinations. I was in my room, on the couch that I was sleeping on, and everything appeared to be totally normal. I was laying there carrying on a conversation with a girl I had been with earlier that day, when suddenly I looked over and she was no longer there. This repeated a few different times. I also had a friend staying with me last night, who was crashed out on my bed; strangely, this carried over into the dream as well. Suddenly my friend stood up quickly and began screaming and pulling at his hair, but when I took a second glance, he was lying still in bed just as he had been.
I've never experienced a dream before that replicated my everyday reality as accurately as this one did. My room looked EXACTLY as it does in real life, and so did the people with whom I was conversing. The experiences I had during the dream reminded me a lot of datura trip reports that I've read.
Also, I was quite boozed up when I fell asleep, perhaps this had something to do with it. Either way, it was quite an amazing experience, though somewhat unsettling at the time.

Usually death in dreams means the letting go of some aspect that is no longer usefull or needed. I think. Veritas would know.

not really. i have no problem or discomfort with people who have a fascination with sex and feces... i just think its kind of funny that someone so obviously wierd is so highly respected.
Personally i think his theories are mostly ridiculous crap, or at least not very usefull at all for any kind of therapy, healing or deeper understanding of life. I also find it amusing that he was a coke abuser of epic proportions, which would undoubtedly have impacted his thinking.

I think there is good reason why so many of Freud's ideas centered around supressed sexuality. Look at the time he was writing. It was the Victorian era -- the golden age of euphamisms and modest attire. Sexual suppression was the sign of the times. It's no wonder that in such an atmosphere, many people would develop perverse fantasies and ideas that they had to suppress. How relevant these ideas are today, I don't know.

Freud broke new ground and said what no one else would say in his time, and so in my book was a courageous man.
The fact that he was imperfect and wrong about some things makes perfect sense.
Our evolution needed Freud.
