I'm sick

Well today I woke up around 10:30 and felt kind of weird, but not sick. As the day progressed, I started to get nauseous. About 8 hours ago I started havin the shits and was puking a lot. I haven't puked in about an hour or so, and I'm feeling better.

I have the symptoms of the flu, but I don't think that's what it is. Last night I ate some chicken, then later found out it wasn'tcompletely cooked. It looked done to be but.. apparently not. I guess it's just a case of food poisoning.

My question is...

I read off of health911.com that you can dip a Q tip in 3% hydrogen peroxide and put it in your ear to battle the flu. Is this BS or does it really work? I'm probably not going to do it, as I am feeling better, but I'd like to know for the future. Anyone heard of or tried this?

I don't need to look up anything to know that is total BS. A little H2O2 in the ear isn't going to do a thing to the flu virus spread throughout the rest of the body.

The peroxide works if you get an ear infection secondary to your flu. It does nothing against the flu itself tho.

I think its foodpoisoning too, chicken is notorious for that and foodpoisoning is quite common. It would be quite odd if you got the H5N1 avian flu thats going around (if thats what your thinking, you are in the pacific northwest tho) but I'd say talk to a doctor about it because chickens often carry salmonella, one of the diseases our grandparents used to call "typhoid". You can get really sick off that and there might be pills.

I basically puked/shat out everything in my system. Then I had a nice warm bowl of chicken noodle soup. I'm feeling a lot better now, not even really sick anymore. Mostly weak from puking so much. You still think it's necessary to see a doctor? I've gotten food poisoning from taco bell before and nothing came of it, once the symptoms went away. It was from a taco salad :p

Food poisoning can be many things so the only responsible advice is to have a doctor hear your specific complaints.

Puke --> Puke'n'Shit --> Shit
sounds like the usual trajectory of a bacterial food poisoning such as salmonella, with your natural defenses clearing out your pipes to bne rid of it. You likely will be OK but none but a doctor can give a professional opinion on that.
