Cambo Cap Color???

My friend has a cambo cased and is getting different colored caps from different areas of the cake. He hasn't seen this amount of variation (carmel/white-very dark brown) with other strains, is this particular to this strain? I know that some strains develope "albino" fruits, is this enviromental, or genetic?

That can be caused either by genetics or by environment. Very high humidity, or high amounts of water in the substrate can cause color changes like that. Improperly mixed (not homogenious) substrate can also be a factor.

Genetics can be possible aswell. If you innoculated with a spore syringe then its possible that several strains are co-existing in your casing, and each seperate strain will produce, slightly different appearances of mushrooms. Color can be included in this variance.
