A mystic is somebody who has something to say, but cannot find the right words to say it; there may not even be words to say what the mystic wants to say. By saying I am a "mystic mind" (a label I gave myself when I first signed up, and never really cared enough to change), I am saying that I have thoughts that I am trying to find the words to express. That is all.

I actually gave myself that label when I partook in pseudo-philosophy; when I was still naive (not that I am not naive now, just not as naive as I was then. Now I have a much better understanding of philosophy, but still far from any real understanding). I was basically a pseudo-philosopher.

Now that you bring that to my attention, I should change it. Thanks.

Well, I don't see the necessity in meditation. This is probably because I am somewhat of a Ch'an fundamentalist, in that I think Hui-neng knew where it was at. Meditation was stressed by his "rival" Shen-hsui, who thought that the mind and body needed to be united, and to do so was to meditate, hence his poem:

The body is the tree of perfect wisdom
The mind is the stand of a bright mirror.
At all times diligently wipe it.
Do not allow it to become dusty.

On the other hand, Hui-neng saw no need for meditation; he saw no need to unite the mind and the body, for they are already one and the same. Hence, his poem, in direct reply to Sheng-hsui:

Fundamentally perfect wisdom has no tree.
Nor has the bright mirror any stand.
Buddha-nature is forever clear and pure.
Where is there any dust?

I apply this Ch'an (Zen) fundamental to my life; I see no need for meditation, because anything I can gain from meditation I already have, and I must simply realize it through experience. Hence, I consider my form of meditation to be a "Waking/Being Meditation," where my simply being-in-the-world is meditation enough. I am a monist, not a dualist. I am content.

Pseudophilosophy (to me at least) is either illogical in nature, like all new age beliefs, and most religions, or its completely incoherent and not understandable (like the majority of what dr_mandelbrot says), also referred to as "mumbo jumbo".

Most pseudophilosophy makes vague reference to things which most people know nothing about in an effort to make itself seem valid.
