Pic of cow poo colonising. It was not heated, just mixed with lime & bleach
    #4853635 -

This is 500g cow poo, mixed with 50g of hydrated lime, 100ml of water and 3ml 5% bleach, NOT HEATED, it was mixed to BELOW field capacity, I had contamed poo and poo slow to colonise which I think was due to too much water, no water came out when squeezed, but it was on the verge of it, I mixed part of the bag to FC then mixed in the rest to dry it out a bit. Mixed with about 200g of wheat grains colonised with texan cubensis from www.spores101.com
Seems fine so far, still smells ok. It was mixed on saturday so this pic is 4 days after that. It is starting to look a little drier now so I may add more water to it

This is the jar it was spawned with. (wheat grain sterilized in a microwave)

this is the cow poo, untreated, note the firefang

People get away with bleach and/or lime pastuerisation of straw, yet they say straw is more prone to contams than poo. So I figure poo should be able to undergo the same cold pastuerisation method. This is very simple if it works. I didnt even have to strain it or anything.

That's going to put out one whopper of a flush! Make sure to do at a minimum of 1 inch on the casing with as much water as it's going to be absorbing, I also suggest a ultrasonic.

I may not case at all. There are a few who use poo with no casing at www.mycotopia.net with good results. I have no humidifier and am tight on space in my incubator so I have no real room for casing.

I know, I know, I will clean the shit off well!

Pans need a casing layer. There is actually a pic in TMC showing a tray, half cased, half not. Under the pic it says "note how nothing is growing on the uncased part".

aha, good. A comparison would be very interesting. One of the advantages somebody noted was the lack of a need for time for the casing to colonise. A comparison should note this as well as yeild. Everybody says store bought manure is bad. I am thinking of trying chicken next. I figure it should be fairly contam free since it must have gone through heat in the heat process.
