Venting for spiritual health?

I read it in hear that venting is good for our spiritual health.

Yes, when we become inflamed and it gets to hot for comfort, venting off the heat can bring relief.

I recognize the need for people to do that who do it here at the shroomery a long while back and asked in WAF if they would open a VENTING ONLY forum so hot heads can vent there instead of in the regular discussion forums.

I think it was YTHAN who replied and said that he didn't want any venting going on here, save for in OTD and that members should be responsible enough to go get some physical exercise to vent their heated emotions.

Exercise is a good way to burn off some steam. So is screaming into pillows and writing out heated thoughts and feelings in private journals.

The thing is, some people enjoy being in temperate climates. If people start venting their heat in them, they make the atmosphere get too hot and uncomfortable for others to be in and they leave the room.

Granted, some people rather enjoy or don't mind being in the heat of the flames and infernos. They must be feeling cold? :shrug:

Most probably enjoy and are most comfy with the thermostat set between 68 and 74 degrees, ya know, the warm blooded folk.

Anyone have any constructive ideas for those who have hot flames to vent here for their spiritual health besides venting in the spirituality forum?

I gave a few. Exercise and journal writing works great for me. Sometimes, I even type up a hot as hell post to get it off my chest and then, just delete it. If a member has you inflamed, you can use the PMs and keep the climate comfy out in the forums so people don't clear the public rooms. if they stay and geet to hot, then they have to start venting too and then, all hell breaks loose.

If you are sincerely concerned about your spiritual health and feel hyper aggressive and hot at a moment, punch the shit out of your pillow until you completely EXHAUST yourself or run it out on the pavement. Then, meditate on the situation when you are cooled down after you've exhausted all of your heat.

If you must vent on a member, you can do it in PMs instead of turning up the heat in the forums and raising hell. That's only good for demonic spiritual health. I realise demons are spirits too but, well, whatever. Then say that venting in the forum is good for your demonic spiritual health and people won't think you mean something else. :tongue:

A member posted in here saying he had heat to vent in the spirituality forum for his spiritual health. That's why it went here.

If a mod wants to move it there then fine. If people think it best for their spiritual health to vent in the spirituality forum then, I think it belongs here.

The mental health forum seems more suitable. We can't clutter up this forum with all types of posts just because they contain the word spiritual. Hell, I don't think spiritual posts themselves are allowed if there is any chance for dissent.
This forum is for yes-people and (some)discussion of spiritual issues.

I'm curious though, how would you define spiritual health? I don't think I've ever heard this phrase before.

People GENUINELY interested in spiritual health go for resolution. The brains in charge here instead opt for the timelessly ineffectual 'solution' of suppression.

It has never worked EVER, but maybe, just maybe, this time it will.  :rolleyes:

Well, had the poster said, "venting is good for our mental and physical health", then, he should've posted his post in that forum. He called his venting spiritual healing. Perhaps his post was the clutter you speak of filling this place.

Had he discussed the topic of venting for spiritual healing in general, then, it would not have been off topic clutter.

Perhaps you should ask him, what he meant by "venting for his spiritual health."

I think a good constructive venting to burn off heated fuel through physical exercise or private journaling or "session" is healthy for the mental, emotional physical and spiritual bodies. Some people include the spirit body in with the holistic body if they believe in one. Maybe thats what he meant and the body he was most concerned about healing.

Maybe he meant it like how some people get sexual healing through sex, he thought he could get spiritual healing of his demons through the spirituality forum. :shrug:

The only definition I have for spiritual healing relates to facing and overcoming or taming our inner demons.

It's reasonable to consider that someone would come here looking for help with their inner demons. It becomes counter productive when they just let them run rampant around the forum encouraging others to bring in their minions to fan and fuel the flames. 

In my understanding, even demons are not spirits, they are just the phantoms of our own ego denials and rejections of the divine within acting pissed off at us and the world for being denied and rejected by us through our own judgments of what we want to ditch about ourselves. Everyone creates them from time to time and everyone has to face them. We can let them pummel the piss out of us and anyone in our path or we can work to tame them.

Some people lump that under mental health. Constructive discussions on it can work or serve in either forum really.

You'll really have to ask MJF why he posted that he wanted to vent for spiritual healing in this forum and not the mental health forum.

I wanted to mention that an admin said they didn;t want any venting going on here except for in OTD and said people should go exercise instead. I thought that was good advice and wanted to share it here for those looking to vent in this forum for spiritual healing. When he cools down, perhaps he will put a post up in the mental health forum to help him with his anger management issues. :shrug:

It all started over having his cat thread moved to the pub. Is that something such a big deal to flame a mod over and create puppets over? 

The mod explained why he thought it was more appropriate for the pub as the thread was more about cat appreciation and not what made them spiritual creatures. The Egyptians regarded cats as very spiritually evolved beings and it use to be against the law to harm them. Had he posted about mythical reverence for the spiritual essence of cats, maybe the mod would of seen it as more on topic and kept it.

I love cats. I thought it was a cool thread either way and loved peoples cat pics. That one Markos posted of the big one hugging the little one was just too sweet for words.

Now I am off topic of my own post.  :tongue: Going to go play with my cat now. :cool: :heart:

That thread moon put up fit under the paranormal header. Those were paranormal creatures. I doubt moon photoshopped them. My neighbors belly size is paranormal. Some of its real.

Maybe MJF should've called cats paranormal and said why he thinks they are not normal compared to other animals or posted a pic of a two headed one or one with 5 tails or something to keep it more on forum topic if he couldn't make the spiritual angle fly for the mods to see it belong here over belonging in the pub. :shrug:

I noticed the paranormal part of the header being questioned in the forum discussion thread. It sort of fits that experiences or happenings out of the norm would fit in here. If there wasn't the paranormal, we would have no need for the word normal. Its a part of life.

Lets face it, some shit in life is just not normal. It can be interesting to share and discuss.

People don't have to read those threads if they are not interested in the paranormal. Sure, it may give this forum one of those cheesy supermarket tabloid feels. I haven't seen anyone seriously post something like "Bat Boy, with 10 foot fangs raised by penguins found".

People aren't seriously going crazy here with that stuff if at all. There are some putting up mock posts to make this forum look cheesy. I think it just makes them look cheesy :grin:

maybe i should have clarified... i cant speak to the validity of any of those photos. Im sure some of them were fake. the one of the huge black bird was a fossilized reconstruction of a real extinct animal. The rest are simply unexplained (to me). i just added them when we changed the forum title to spirituality, mystesism and the paranormal

when in rome, right?

i certainly didnt photoshop them. i can barely work my fucking computer.

but thats even more off topic...
