You can leave them with her for their lifetime if you wish. But I used to keep them together until they got to be about 3-4 inches then I separated them for other reasons. To prevent inbreeding or for sale or trade. When their about that size they can do well for themselves. Any time I separated them earlier they didn't seem to thrive. I have never personally seen an Emperor or Desert Hairy scorpions eat each other when kept in colonies. As far as other species are concerned they know when to get away from mom and thats the best time to separate them. For feeding after separation size appropriate food is best but I've also feed them crushed crickets with no problems.

Here's a like with some info with lots of pictures, and your right not too much info on the web. lots of links here too.

that's what someone else said, but I really don't think so because *arachnids* and other arthropods have very specialized, mechanical reproductive parts, whereas frogs have soft parts that can morph. Plus when frogs to that, they don't get themselves pregnant. That scenario happens only when the population doesn't have enough of a certain sex for reproduction. If a population is all females, some will change into males to mate with the other females, but they don't get themselves pregnant.

Yeah, whem in shool they had stick insects in the biology lab , they were all females and reproduced very fast, is called parthenogenesis.

I think all the little stick insects were females as well.

so maybe you have a lot of female scorpions. congrats

True for some insects, amphibians and even some reptiles. Never see this to be the case with Arachnids who can store sperm and delay onset of fertilization for years.

*UPDATE*

Hey, I just wanted to let you guys know that the babies have been separated from the mom and put into a gladware bowl with holes in the lid. The coir bedding from the moms cage was lightly misted and a drinking sponge as well.

When I finally had a chance to count the squirming white grubs on her back, there were thirteen of them! There may have been more than that originally. But of course, over half of them died (tis natures' way ) and there are about four or five that look like they will make it.

Honestly, if I get even one scorpion out of the deal I'll be happy!!

Sorry, no pics. My digicam is worse than shit. I'll work on getting pics though.
