My baby hummingbird :)
    #1744412 - 07/24/03 01:13 PM (13 years, 4 months ago)

Yesterday there were two ladies in my apt office. They had found a baby hummingbird. They had been carryingit around in there hand for hours just feeding it water. So I convinced them to give it me.
I brought it home and me and my mom made it a nest like thing in a little box. I was feeding it sugar water untill I had a chance to get to the store. I got some normal hummingbird food for it finally last night and am now feeding it that.

Is there anything esle I can do for it? I know that hey get cold easyly so I takeit outside if i think its getting cold so it can warm up. I've had baby birds before.....but they were never a hummingbird. So I'm just looking for any advice on them

I've also read up on them online a bit

I've never had an injured bird live on me before, sadly. But I always find really fucked up birds. Heh, I feed the birds outside twice a day. If I'm late, they wake me up in the morning. You can hear their beaks pecking on my window around 8:00. Its an awesome feeling, even if they still think I'm gonna kill them :frown:

AWWW....thats so cool
This bird had nothing wrong with it. It was just hingery and these two dumb chicks picked it up not knowing how to take care of it ro anything. They were going to just feed it water till it got bigger and then let it go. What they didnt realize is that it was going to die on just water. So thats how I ended up with it

Thats really cool. I wouldn't think a domesticated hummingbird would do very well though, they need lots of airspace to live. Can it fly yet?

I'm just surprised because ......oh stupid me i get it now?

It's used to feed them like in a bird feeder, I was thinking that it was unusual to see a domesticated Hummingbird.

So how is he doing....he must be so small

I was watching that Comedy Central show, "I'm with Busey," the other night, and according to Gary Busey, "NASA has proof that hummingbirds can't fly."

Of course Gary Busey also said that, "Fear is a dark room where the Devil develops his negatives. Don't go in there!"

Awww so sweet. When I was a kid I found an injured sparrow. I tried my best to nurse it back to health. I failed. :frown:

i found a small magpie once. i fed it and it became a pet of sorts. one day it shit on me. later on it died. i cried. after that i killed as many magpies as i could. i was the magpie reaper. only i used a gun instead of a stick with a sharp curved blade on it.

in conclusion: if you die i will kill all your relatives

Odin: I have no clue what a madpie is....but its mean to kill things. Besides....if I die and me and 3D were married......you would kill him?

Magpies are cool, they are very clever and are habitual thieves. They're attracted to anything that shines. You often see them flying into bathrooms to steal the jewelry, or stealing the silver tops off of milk bottles.

Hey I like 3Ds shirt, snakeskin pimpin' gear no?

Magpies are carrion feeders, but I don't hold that against them, so are condors...
