anyone know anything about emperer scorpions?

I just bought one. I have read alot of info on websites, but need to know wither or not it is ok to not have a heat lamp. The temp is supposed to be i believe 90-95 , the current temp is 85. wondering if this is ok

buying a scorpion with little knowledge on it is a silly idea, why did u not look into it and read up befor getting one? there not the easyest pets to look after

How big is the cage? What is it made of? What is the humidity?
Depending on the size of the cage, you may want to get a ceramic heat emitter.
Be careful though, it is real easy to cook a scorpion without meaning to.

I know I almost talked this retarded kid I know that had a scrorpion into letting it sting him a couple times for $20. Unfortunately he didn't do it, it really would have made my day.

They're a tropical scorpion. They need to be kept in a fairly humid environment. As others said, they're not one of the easiest animals to look after.

i had 2 in a fishtank for like ayear when i was a youngan, its ok not to have a heat lamp but when it gets cold they will just hibernate.

They "hibernate" because they're cold blooded and can't move if they're not warm. Emps are tropical rainforest dwelling scorpions that need to be kept above 75F with high humidity.

i had one for a few years, his name was Icculus (phish fans will get the reference). he was pretty cool but eventually died after my parents inherited him when i went to college. one of the coolest things ever is that even though they are black they glow bright green under a black light, it's really cool. mine was an impulse buy too, i wanted a tarantula but they were 90 and the scorpions were only 15 so i went for that. my parents also left a baby mouse (for my snake) in his cage thinking they wouldn't hurt each other, but the scorpion killed it and ate half of it! he didn't eat for awhile after that. my dad still has his body in a jar, it got all hard and sorta mummified i think.
