Allowing WBS to sprout

I prepared enough wild bird seed for 12 pint jars. I then loaded up all twelve pre-prepared jars (polyfil+tyvek). My pressure cooker only has room for six jars. So I pressure-cooked the first batch late one night and went to sleep before they were fully cooled. I inoculated the first batch in the morning and went to work. I didn't have time for another two days to do the second batch. At this point, the seeds had began to sprout as a result of been soaked in water. Interested to see what would happen, I continued as I normally did pressure cooking and innoculating the jars.

Even though I began the second batch (the sprouted ones) a couple of days later, they have progressed significantly more quickly than the first. Has anyone else had any experience with sprouted seeds? Is this a mere coincidence or have I made somewhat of a personal breakthrough.
