Strange Spots...

Hey everyone, my jars are almost ready to be birthed, but there's one I'm not so sure about. The best way to explain it is below one of the inoculation holes, it looks almost as if there is thinner, stringy myc. growing and on the outer part of this it is an off yellow color. The rest of the jar on the other three points are bright white and look like the rest of my jars. Also, the bottom looks as follows...



I've got one other jar besides this one where the bottom looks the same, and there is a small circle (about the size of a nickle) of yellowish white with the thinner looking myc inside of it. The rest of my jars are bright white on the bottom.

I'm not sure what to think, I thought I'd run it by you all

all myc is white. thin/stringy offwhite sounds like cobweb, but yellow...I'm not sure. I don't really have contam issues so I can't help you out. I practice stringent sterility and buy all my jars pre-sterillized.

uh... if you cant tell thats writing on his jars.. then somethings wrong with you. haha. or your just tripping.

sure way to tell if its a contam, give it a swab with a q tip.. if it comes off onto the q tip, then its a contam.

Interesting.... I guess I'll let it continue to incubate then until I decide to birth it. Ill figure it out then. I'm just worried about contanming my other jars. However, most of them are nearly fully colonized so Contamns aren't as much of a problem from what I understand...

that bottom looks fine to me. tip it with the top down and bottom up and give it a slap on its ass. the bottom is all smushed up against the glass. those spots will fill in once it has room to breathe. by this time the cake will have shrunk some so if it give it a good slap it should loosen from the glass and slide down towards the top.

do u have a pic of this thin, yellow mycellium?
