Does Vitamin C increase your trip?

Anyone know of anything (besides eating more shrooms) that will boost a shroom trip? I hear vitamin C does, but it wasnt from a reliable source. If someone could fill me in, i would appreciate it, thanks!

A MAOI should boost your trip, but it can be dangerous depending on what else you are ingesting. Also, marijuana and other psychoactive drugs can do the same.
There are only claims, but no definitive research that niacin, vitamin C and potassium can increase the power of trips.

Alexander Shulgin has recommended taking Vitamin C before a psychadelic trip. In case you don't know who he is he's discovered numerous psychoactives substances over the years, and is a personal friends of Albert Hofmann ; )
I would say you're unreputable source was right this time... Oh and I would either drink a couple glasses of oj or take at least 1 500mg pill....

MonoAmineOxidase Inhibitor.
AFAIK,
MAO metabolizes some substances in your brain, such as psilocin. An MAO Inhibitor will ensure that there is less MAO in your brain, so the drug is more effective.
You have to be careful with these though. Eating cheese, or consuming alcohol while on them can kill you.

It's probably best to look up that kind of information for yourself because there are a lot of things that can be harmful and possibly fatal to you if you are going to take a maoi.

there are a few prescription drugs that are MAOi's (moclomenide (sp?) is prolly the most common these days)
and there are several herbal sources, with the most common being syrian rue seeds (Peganum harmala), yage vine (Banisteriopsis caapi), passionflower herb (Passiflora edulis), and puncture vine (Tribulis terrestris)...
use a search engine here for many past discussions about this sorta thing, or go to places like erowid or lycaeum for tons of info...
as to the vit C, well an organic acid in the stomach may act as a buffer solution to keep the pH oprimal and facilitate absorption; and in the body and brain, higher levels of vit C may act to "quench" free-radical cascades, thus more quickly eliminating "toxic" effects and making for a "cleaner" or "smoother" trip...

Personal experience: no, not really. There are claims that it does, but that might be a result of the placebo effect.

Never mind just found it.
From Erowid.
Timing. Tyramine gets digested pretty quickly, and likely clears the gut in 12 hours or so. The harmala alkaloids are also short acting, and also clear in 12 hours, perhaps more like 6 hours. Most people who take Syrian Rue brews do not eat anything just before, since vomiting is so common, and few people eat a big meal right afterward. This means it's unlikely the two would be at high levels at the same time.
