OK..so i might be wrong on that point...but the larger issue is vindication for bush and the resulting support for fascism and imperialism...

i dont think you were wrong. It says the poeple will control existing productions but untapped reserves are open for foreign companies, also the national oilc ompany has been, at least, partially privitized and is open to foreign corporate control. There is a lot of bullshit and underhandedness in the constitutuion, and not only do we have to rely on snippets from media and their framing of things, the iraqis were unable to read the thing before voting on it not to mention last minute changes.

They shouldn't vote on something they know nothing about. The great thing is they are free to learn about it now. Its a matter of motivation now, do they wanna exert the effort to understand the damn thing.

If you knew anything about economics then you would know that foreign ownership of oil is not nesseccarily a bad thing. first the asset still remains in Iraq providing jobs for Iraqie, second the money invested from the foreign companies is money that will go directly to the economy of the country via taxes and other revenues. Net foreign Investment is vital to the health of an economy.

i dont see how you feel warranted in saying i know nothing about economics. I actually know a great deal. Iraqis have jobs that they would have otherwise, yes. Still, some jobs are taken by foreign laborers. Foreign controls do not necessarily contribute much in terms of taxes, esp. with tax breaks made under occupations, and the privitization of the national company allows for profit without such taxes. Furthermore, in comparison to true domestic control and profit, the country without a doubt gets fucked overall.

they are trying to establish a democracy based off our own. American commerce and industry isn't exclusively owned by Americans. The beauty is that now they country can finally spread its wings. They will learn fly or they will fall. They should in time become, if they can work out some of the more fundamental differences between tribes, a working example of free enterprise and a republic.

Man anytime a company buys a company in another country it introduces money into that home country. Are you telling me that having x dollars introduced into the country and still having the industry there to provide jobs is fucking the people? yes foreign labor is a problem, its a problem here if you hadn't noticed. The foreign laborers are still going to spend their money, they are still going to eat and consume things. The overall impact is in mine eyes a plus!!

im saying theyd have those jobs anyways. The people that are putting money back in with consumption wouldnt be nonexistent otherwise. The main point it that it robs profits and control, and between domestic and foreign control/profit, domestic is better overall for the people of the country.

thats what "vindication for bush" means ..this will be painted out exactly as above.. ie that bush and his destructive policies (imperialism abroad and fascism at home) had been correct all along..just when americans were beginning to realize that this is not the case...
