I touch and crumble my cakes every time I do a casing. I have never noticed an area that does not grow because I touched it.

Seeking more info on this , help please .
Also an added thought along with the above,
when picking using the twist and pull method does or will that cause harm to any of the surface aera ?

it seems pretty crude to just rip a shroom off but i know it any matter left could be a doorway to contams , will more pins be able to form from the same plucked spot ?

what if many pins are attached to the ready to be picked shroom at the base , what should be done ?

Thx for any help yo . Peace

Minor handling of the cakes, may cause some bruising, but most of the time the mycillium will recover just fine. I've never had problems with twist and pull, it will not harm the cakes.
