whether the iraq war has deterred terrorism, increased it, or had no effect on it, is a complicated issue that cannot be resolved as simply as, "well, there has been terrorism since the war began, against one of our allies,

Except that we have clear statements from the London suicide bombers blaming Blairs involvement in Iraq.

which proves one of 2 things:

A) the war in iraq motivated these terrorists to attack
or
B) that these terrorists wanted the public to believe that the war in iraq motivated them to attack

neither of these would PROVE that the war in iraq has increased the danger of terrorism. it comes far short of that. terrorists were attacking before the war. they are attacking now.

there is actually nothing out there that can absolutely prove that the war increased the risk of terrorism, nor is there anything out there to prove the reverse. arguments can be made from both side by presenting arguments that are well supported with numerous articles of evidence (more than one). even at that, it's silly to call it proof.
