mycelium content vs. pinning
    #476377 - 12/01/01 07:08 PM (23 years, 1 month ago)

My cakes seem to have dried out quite a bit and are no longer covered with fluffy mycelium but just a layer of patted down un-fluffy mycelium. Do I need to have fluffy mycelium in order to pin? If so how should I get it back? Should I keep it from light? Should I even still keep it in my terrarium?

get yur humidity up to snuff.. and as long as the myc hasnt gone all blue tinted, the mycelium should still be alive and kickin.. after a few days, possibly a week, it will recover. just give it time and the right conditions.

When myc or shrooms get bruised, they turn blue or white-blue.. thats how you know if its dead.
