sterilizing perlite in the microwave?

can you do it without it harming the perlite? do I even need to do it? i'd be using it as a bottom layer in my casing.

yeah do it. it will only help. just put it in a cool whip bowl or something, wet it down a lil and nuke it 4 a while.
